FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Same kinda deal here, not sure how much that blade weighs, but is in the neighborhood of 2200. I recently excavated and moved about 40 yards of material 300 ish feet and it made things much better to leave the backhoe up. The weight of a full loader bucket is nicely counter balanced with a...

Cool thanks. You should post a picture of that data plate.

Hey, For all you HMMH folks out there, how high above ground can you get the hook of the crane?

Be honest, would any of us be surprised if the actual price was $132? I wouldn’t be, special Mercedes unobtainium plastic.

Sounds like the little plastic ball bushing in the top of the transmission has broken. Similar symptoms reported by a number of people with that problem. Sounds like a pretty easy fix if that’s the case.

Oooooooo.... sounds like the pump needs to come off to me. One last hope would be that the throttle linkage isn’t adjusted properly. Have you worked the linkage at the pump while checking for fuel? Anyone have other ideas?

I am curious, what do you mean no fuel is getting past the injection pump? The priming system should take care of injection pump priming, that’s what it’s for. I’m assuming this SEE ran in February and March so we can assume the injection pump worked then. As always, these comments are...

I cut mine out in a fit of rage last year. Perhaps that was a self inflicted gunshot to the foot, but I loath clutter and poorly installed systems, so for me it simplified the diagnostic procedure. To each his own. I would love to watch someone diagnose an issue using the STE/ICE wires, in...

Installing Ford 300-I6 into Unimog 404

The previous owner must have ditched the torque tubes?

Yes, there is a strict “no soda pop” policy in place now. The price of progress.

Avoid Titan 32” thumb on the FLU419

Agreed, in cross section that thumb is an I-beam and isn’t gusseted for twisting. I just installed one on my SEE, and I think maybe I should throw some chunks of half-inch in the channel on the bucket side. I’m sure it doesn’t help that it’s just normal mild steel.

Since no one else has swung at this... If it were me and I was swapping fluid out, I would run the AW32 in it. It's a hydraulic system after all. The only reason (as I understand it) that OE is called for is the simplified logistics of using the same fluids for many things. I'm confident that...

FLU419 air compressor zero PSI; where do I start?

Yikes! Well I’m glad everything turned out OK with no damage or injury. I think it bears repeating that you should have reasonably effective brakes with no air pressure at all. So if you don’t, then I would abandon for the moment any investigation or work on the pneumatic side, and focus on...

FLU419 air compressor zero PSI; where do I start?

First question i have is... zero brakes? Yes the brakes have an air assist, but it’s only an assist. You should have somewhat effective brakes with zero air pressure. If your brakes don’t work at all, the hydraulic brake system is the first thing that needs fixing. Yes, that’s basically how...

Thinking ahead to my winter solstice bonfire party next year. Thought I would gather a little wood.

Flu-419 Front Loader - Who needs new hydraulic fittings and hoses? Resources?

Gates is who i get hydro parts from and though i make my own hoses, the local auto parts shop has the same press and dies and makes hoses for people all the time. DIN included. If you can source the fittings there has got to be a tractor place or something nearby that’ll crimp the ends on for...

Yes, I had that problem and lube was half of the two pronged solution, the other was a new return spring.

    FLU419 Removing attachments

One more thing that makes life easier for loader re-installation; grease the upper and lower mounts a little. They tend to stick and hang up just when they should drop into place. Of course you'll use the implement functions to help micro align and jiggle things into place.
