I was taught to gently sprinkle baking soda on the battery, then gently rinse. After that, any dirt could be cleaned with soap and a stiff brush (NOT a wire brush)
I'm out in the country so that's exactly how I do it. The firewood that gets the goo on it is STRICTLY for the bonfire pit, never the fireplace inside. But then again it should be obvious, at least to most guys here...
Well I don't have my system up yet, but I did make a second settling tank yesterday. I got a 3/4" bulkhead fitting from TSC so I can drain off the water and settled goo from the bottom. I don't have that feature on the first tank. I'm starting to fill that one now. I have to clean the 100...
I've basically been getting a bunch of used motor oil from friends and neighbors, along with a little stale gas, and about ten gallons of clean fuel oil taken from a tank that was being removed from a house. I've thrown in some old diesel treatment left over from when I had a Cummins Dodge.
I...
Can you elaborate on the comment on particle load? I'm planning on filtering to 1/2 micron, and my first batch has been settling for about a year. (other priorities) But is 1/2 micron acceptable?
I would think that eventually, the industry will get LED headlights right. New emergency equipment has almost all LED lighting now, (except for headlights) and the failure rate is VERY low. We used to have to constantly replace Halogen bulbs, and some equipment would go through alternators...
Adding a shut off flap to the air intake is a much better option than relying on a CO2 extinguisher. It will be faster acting, and you won't have to rely on aiming the extinguisher, or being close enough. Many older fire trucks had that feature, with a cable control at the dash by the steering...
When I redo my top I'm just going to use Topper tape (the stuff you use for pickup bed toppers) and just cut it to fit. It should be cheaper and work just as good if not better. Weather seal would probably work good too.
Anybody know if using a flammable to seat a tire can cause pyrolysis?? I know it's a stupid thing to do in the first place, just wondering if there's enough heat there to start the process.
The KEY is to UN-bury the truck. Bottle jacks, cribbing, and plywood or planks are essetial. I buried this tractor and drove it out, a bobcat could barely get to me, and did nothing when trying to pull. It took me about 2 hours just by myself to get it out. Jack the truck up as much as you...
Uh, the rust is what's holding it together. The original frame is shot, and unless I buy a whole new hard top, I haven't seen any windows for sale by themselves. One place listed some, but their inventory was wrong.
Bumping this back up rather than posting a new thread.
So I found a nice piece of new 1/4" plexiglas, and I'm thinking of just putting that in as a solid piece. Anyone know of a way to bend flat steel stock (or aluminum) so that it makes a flat frame around the window edge? (on the wide...
