When you buy a vehicle from any dealer you pay "Doc" fees....that is the cost of doing business. They are not going to eat a fee that has to be paid to the gooberment.

Yes if you go over a certain Gross Vehicle Weight. You can bobtail an M818 and be OK, (in some states) if you put a loaded trailer behind it you get into CDL requirements.
No it doesn't have straight air brakes so you are exempt in some states.
You have to check your states...

If I can figure out a way to atomize and burn it I will do so......but nothing flammable goes to waste around here......I use all of my non-fuel flammables for starting fires.
One thing not mentioned is that just about everything on the 5 ton is heavier.....I have had a 5 ton multi-fuel tractor and a M816 wrecker.
Wrestling 5 ton tires and rims is a beotch.
Anytime I get the urge to get another 5 ton I go out in the back yard and move that 5 ton brake drum from...
I had a 5 ton tractor with the Multi in it.
(1) Drain the tank and make every effort to get all the crud out of it.....the tank has baffles in it so you just have to do your best.
(2) While you are at it take the fuel pump out of the tank and make sure the pickup screen is clean.....also...
