I have a set of jumper cables made out of welding cable with very heavy clamps.
Prob a lot cheaper than doing an install unless you are just looking for the cool factor.
I have jumped many a deuce and 5 ton using them and never had an issue with not getting enough juice to start one.

The big issue I have with the HUMVEE (and I drove them in the Army) is the automatic transmission.
You lose the ability to push start it if you lose juice in the batteries.
If a deuce has fuel and air and you pull it a short distance (Hi Range, 3rd gear) it will fire and run. It will get you...
I have a round brush that I can chuck into my cordless drill....it is just the ticket for cleaning the inside of the battery terminals....then I use a battery post cleaner to do the posts...this gives maximim current flow from the batteries.

If I really want to watch the final price I go in just as soon as the auction starts and put in the minimum bid. You can then watch your Bid History and when the auction closes you will see what the high bid was.

After GL took over as a contractor from DRMO they closed a lot of sites and made a lot of sites "unmanned" which means you have to work around their schedule to preview and pick up.
They also ship a lot of stuff (on the taxpayers nickle) to regional sites to maximize their profits.

I have seen Water Buffalos dualed out and a M105 with a fuel pod with duals on it.
I'm not sure if you can (or have to) flip the hubs to do the mod.
If I remember correctly it was not an authorized field modification due to concerns about the bearings.

I concur with popular opinion...get a genny designed to make power.
I have a friend that bought a deuce engine and tranny still mounted in the frame to do the same thing you want to do.......it is still sitting in his back...
