I'm still trying to catch up on things I did with/to my deuce:
June 06th, 2019:
Sounds of Freedom Car Show, Layton, Utah
(Yes, I took my miniature side-kick ;)
One veteran talked to me for a while and was convinced he served with my deuce in the Utah National Guard. Unfortunately I didn't...
That's a good suggestion. I do go to a handful car shows each year, but I do prefer to look at other MVs so why I'm now trying to organize 2 yearly local MV get-togethers, such as linked to earlier.
Heyya Neal, that’s cool! Always good to find more folks locally. I’d love to show you around my truck. Isn’t that the favorite past time of any MV owner, to talk about their truck? ;) I’ll shoot you a Private Message (PM).
Today I’m re-re-refixing a leaking rear axle seal. Might also replace a...
For the record, the new surplus "hat" cap fit perfectly. I just lightly sanded it and painted it with self etching primer and then flat black to match the master cylinder paint job. I also ordered and placed a "silicone brake fluid only" sticker.
In the end of June I removed the old main hard line. I had to drill out two of the rusted screws above the axle and install 1/4" rivnuts.
Then I installed the master cylinder, the bent new steel hard line and new flexible hose. I reused the copper crush washer when attaching the new flexible...
M813rc,
I'm sorry for taking literal months to get you this comparison. I did take this comparison photo two months ago... Here is a rear kick-down leg from an M105. It appears to be 686 CARC painted over 383 CARC. I'm sure it's faded. Comparing it against the "M00920" stenciled letters on my...
You could purchase tubed or tubless (very high price) wheels from Vintage Power Wagons. I talk about it a bit on page 7 of my Pioneer Tool trailer thread that you're already familiar with...
Hey mkrusi!
I apologize, I've been fairly absent of late. I haven't done a single thing with the trailer except keep it covered in my driveway. I want to put this long bodied Pioneer Tool trailer body on the frame of an M101A3. I was hoping to find an M101A3 cargo trailer (or just the frame)...
Thank you so much Tinstar for measuring that so promptly for me. That was very kind of you and I appreciate it.
Guyfang, thank you too for the offering of alternate part numbers and vendors, but I think I’d rather go by the eBay route as an assured purchase.
Thanks for the NSN! There's still one on eBay that is 3 times cheaper than Croft. Do you have any idea if the thread on yours 1-5/8" in diameter? (I just don't want to buy an NOS "hat" cap that is made for the smaller diameter opening rather than the larger 1-5/8" mouth on my new master...
Croft sent me exactly what I purchased, the exact same thing as you have, just with the marine grade finish (which is what I had ordered). It is a perfect fit.
I apologize for not being more clear, but the master cylinder itself is not my question at all. I am not surprised that the cap is...
Yessir, that's the exact same as what I have listed and linked, except without the overly expensive "marine" finish. Same part number, just without the "-M".
Good point about the standard cap on the new master cylinder being lower profile. I could see that optional rounded cap easily getting...
I wanted to discuss a minor difference between a older style master cylinder (probably original) off my 1997 Pribbs M101A3 trailer.
First, a side-by-side comparison. The new one is (obviously) the shiny silver, which is the "marine" (wet environment) finish:
Part Number: 10614-M...
Thanks SCM35A2!
I forgot to post this earlier. The flexible brake line was showing signs of cracking/deterioration and I noticed one point on the hard brake line was severely damaged and rusty. The hard line wasn't ruptured, but it is only a matter of when, not if. So I've decided to replace...
Hahaha oh man. Well, my plans had been September. I still want to do an MV camping trip with everyone and I'm very sad I missed the Avon trail run y'all did.
You bet M813rc, and thanks for the complements! (Many thanks to Gunzy too for the good price too)
As far as the color question, I am not sure. I'll see if I have something that is 686 tan in color to hold up next to the light colored markings and see if they match. I don't believe I have any...
Yes, thank you! But it doesn't hurt to be reminded and have it documented where I can easily find it ;)
I would have liked to keep the A1 trailer, but it would have just sat around outside like everything else. Now, if I had a large indoor storage for a proper "collection"... things might be...
