Yeah my power outage deterrent never worked as planned. I've put over 60 hours on mine in less than 2 years.
Good **** thing it was test day. Both of my brand new batteries are dead so I have a parasitic draw somewhere. Dang solar controller was reading over 25 volts. So much for using it as an...
I love my 12v pump set up. I keep a cap on the nozzle end and everything else is sealed. All I have to do is connect the leads to one of the generator batteries, flip the switch, and start filling. The volume is equal to or better than any fuel station pump so filling is fast and easy.
I will...
Hope everyone stays safe through this season!
I will be watching all of them. Hope 9 doesn't get strong and head for the gulf. I can usually get my fuel drums topped up on a days notice, two at the most. This Sunday is my regular test day and I put in new batteries last week and ran it unloaded...
This is my final take on filter choice. I have made a conscious, informed decision to continue using the paper element pre filter on all my diesel equipment.
The Microgard box is just labeled as a premium fuel filter. I doesn't say GASOLINE ONLY or DO NOT USE FOR DIESEL. It may well be...
Everybody's a freakin critic lately.
The filter is installed correctly for the direction of flow.
Anybody that thinks a cellulose element filter won't work for diesel is wrong. Cellulose filter media is acceptable for Hydraulic Oils, Quench Oils, Insulating Oils, Synthetic Transformer Oils...
I decided to upgrade the fuel pre filter on my generator using a small engine filter. I have these on both of my tractors since correcting some tank issues on one of them. These are easy to see if they become restricted and save the expense and trouble caused by allowing the main filters to get...
Mine is going to get lawn tractor batteries next time. The Value Power group 26 batteries are limping along for now. One of them has low hydrometer readings but my solar charger is keeping the pair above 24V for now. Having the solar controller mounted on top of the unit under my shed has been a...
I tried to make my list as short as possible and one page. I do monthly maintenance and load tests so I didn't want to bother her with checking fluids and such. As far as warm up time it will have a couple of minutes to warm up before she gets back to the breaker panel. The first time she didn't...
This is my condensed check list. May need a few additions or revisions but she went through it as is and would have passed the test IMO.
Go outside and make sure power cable is connected at both ends, to the generator and the house. Never start the generator with the cable unplugged at the...
When I assemble an engine I like to coat the bearings and piston skirts with assembly lube. Gives a little extra protection at start up. I usually just wipe a thin coat of oil on the rings. No assembly lube on those.
"estimated ship date 9/17/2018" Be interesting to see if you get one. Let us know if anybody orders and gets the actual pump. Many searches including on the Airtex web site have failed to locate this pump.
