    M123 parts

to jwaller in this string... no offense, but what part of "...cutting up everything as they get to it...", and, "...get rid of everything military, (via) scrap or sale whichever comes first..." don't you understand? In other words, yes they will scrap the M125 if you don't get your ass up...

    Replaced R6602 Manifold Assembly

Craig, the 6602's inherently run rich enough already,,, they don't need a 4-barrel to add more fuel to the mix.... We called them "brush burners" for a reason...... They not only had a habit of catching roadside brush on fire, but while I followed I watched an M127 semitrailer full of...

    M123 parts

George Moore Trucks Keeseville, NY (near Plattsburgh) 518-834-7571 A bit pricey but they have several M123 10T's and at least one M125 cargo, very rare. They are cutting up everything as they get to it.... If you need parts you better call asap. I was up there last week and they intend to...

    818 and 813 frame ???

yes, I agree with the others, a deuce bed is the way to go on an 818. BUT to add to the information.... You do not want to take an M813 and put a 5th wheel on it. The shorter 818's turn wide enough as it is, especially with a semitrailer... To make an 813 into a tractor will only compound...

    Possible 5 Ton Dump trade

I have several 1950's IH trucks you can pick from.... some would be great hot-rod projects, or keep them stock....

    Running bias with radials ? ? ?

On curves at high speeds you will feel a sense of sway and unresponsiveness to steering if you have radials on the front and bias on the rear. As for the opposite, bias on the front and radials on the rear will handle just fine and give you a smooth ride.

    Mack powered 5 ton tractors ....... ?

RE: Macks Ditto to Recovery4x4... All 5-tons with A1 suffix were Mack-powered originally. ENDT-673 to be exact. They ran about 210-220HP at best if the pump was set up a little "hot." They wouldn't hold their speed well over the road, but they sure could lug. The engines had incredible low-rpm...

    Would you pay $16,000 for a M246A2?

Not to spoil the romance of it, but mil wreckers have slow hydraulics and often recovery time is of the essence on busy roadways.... What about your insurance costs???? I have a wrecker and have been there... done that.... The wrecker works only on off-road tasks nowadays.

    Replaced R6602 Manifold Assembly

cracked or broken exhaust manifolds on the R6602's are common. The engines usually get shut down hot and the design of the casting isn't the strongest. I've replaced maybe a couple dozen of them in the mil.

    Frustrating 809-series sprag!

Have been a mechanic and driver of 5-tons for many many years. Yes, when properly working, the front axle will kick for AWD regardless of what gear or range you are in. The air valve is supposed to shift the sprag into forward operation the second you pull the shifter out of reverse into neutral.

    Last M123a1c

RE: Re: some serious advice....... Yes, you are correct, in some states. OW permit here is $250 per day, with restricted routes and restricted daytime hours. Agricultural exceptions here are only on farm equipment... no trucks unless they have spray equipment or farm implements of some sort...

    Last M123a1c

some serious advice....... The 10T trucks are OVERWIDTH vehicles. They are not legal in most states to operate on public highways unless you are a gov't entity of some sort. An individual can get away with it in some states by removing the outer rear wheels. At a top speed of about 42 mph...
