Today I Installed my trucklite brakelights. Wasn't sure what color I want to go with yet but I'll tape them off when the time comes. I also took the reflectors off in prep for paint. Gotta finish taking data plates off and grease the zerk fittings. Looks like most of the zerks have years of...
I did that first. After I did that I disconnected the old valve and opened the valves and blew anything in the line out. I assume it was because gladhands were exposed. They aren't exposed anymore
I had this radiator just rebuilt to put in my other truck and the radiator all along the top was calcium build ups and was leaking bad. It was not good. I had a shop build a brand new one and works great in cargo truck now. Glad I got the new one in it.
Well after looking at my issues with the relay valve being so rusted I removed the pipe plug on the air filters attached to each glad hand and water poured out of them. I blew the lines out and removed all water. If those filters go bad it could be why there was issues. So to combat that I'm...
Thank you! It's a work in progress. Next modification I'd like to get is an air assist steering kit. I have one on my cargo truck, having one on this would help alot.
So the right front hub driving home was getting real hot. We decided to close the valves to the gladhands and drive it back without brakes. Truck did fine, after getting it home the trailer sat until a week ago. I got a m1061a1 tm at the hagarstown military show and decided it was time to...
In May 2021 I bought a m1061a1 trailer. I have wanted one for a while and Scrounger (steelsoldiers) had one for a great price. Needed TLC, finally had a chance to start working on it. One of my best friends helped me bring it home from Virginia with his 5 ton. The brake light cable was bad...
Just got back from first camping trip for 2022 and my gf and I went to Cherry Springs State Park in PA. Only 1 of 2 international dark skies in the US. No visible light and no air pollution allow for the most beautiful night time photos of the milky way. Highly recommend to anyone that's into...
The outer seals where the key way is, is a new rockwell seal. I can't imagine that failed. Maybe it was the cork that gave way. I'll take it apart and see what the culprit is. It might be the cork. If so I'll replace with a piece of rubber and or some rtv. Thank you for the advice.
On one of my trucks last year I completed maintenance on one of my axles and reserviced with new seals, grease and bearings. Followed the tm specs to a T. I come out to start doing maintenance for the season and both inner axle seals I replaced are leaking. Theres 500 miles on these seals...
Yes there has been. Peashooters m109a3 build he re-skinned and insulated whole box and other people did spray foam insulation in their builds. Peashooter also put a heated floor in which helped with Temps above 50 degrees. Read about his build. He did way more manufacturing and design work...
I bought my m109a3 from Jatonka and used the truck as a covid project in 2020. Has all the comforts of home, heat/ac, full size bed, portajon, a projector. Plans to add a generator and portable sink. Works well for camping on weekends or going mv shows and car shows. One of the nicest trucks...
I went with the air assist steering. It gives me redundancy should I lose the air assist I still have manual steering. With lockout hubs and g177s on my truck it's literally like having power steering. Makes a huge difference. To each their own.
