I was told to create the title they first have to get the SF97, then they turn that in a title. I was quoted a minimum of 90 business days after item pickup. I pretty much call and bug them every week or two and the story never gets better. Just what I've been told. I hope yours comes much...
Any specs? Curious what engine and trans? Are they using an air suspension now or still coil springs?
Although I'm not fond of the ridiculously low hanging bumper on the olive drab one, I do like the 'boat sides'.
I dont have the exact answer to your question, but your local DMV has the ability to assign a VIN to your vehicle. Im sure each differs on what they consider justification for assigning one, but regardless, this new vin is nothing more than a unique identifier. No relation to the manufacturer...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I did go to the DMV to discuss this and was told as long as my title does not say 'for off-road use only' I'll be ok. Gov planet has assured me the title will not say this, whenever I do actually receive it. In the mean time I am pursuing getting a 17 digit vin...
Have you been bugging them?
I also ordered a notarized bill of sale. I was told it would ship to me in just a couple days from my order. 3 weeks later, nothing. I've called a couple times about it. Today I called and was disconnected twice, transferred 4 times, then finally spoke to a nice...
Well, now I learning the EUC is the easy part. Turns out the real wait is for the Title/SF-97. I'm super anxious to try and get this thing registered (m1123), but keep getting told to expect 90 business days from the day of pickup (interesting that it's not the day of EUC approval). So, they...
I seriously looked into an electric conversion for my CJ7. Not so much because I want electric power (I quite like a big healthy v8), but because I fear about long term fuel cost and access given the heavy gov push to electrification. The approximate cost with a used tesla motor and...
It does seem to be trending higher. Last week there was some good deals if you're willing to get one needing a little love. Although I got mine already, I can't help but watch the auctions. Mine might need a friend.
After putting 60 or so miles on it, I have to say, I'm very pleasantly surprised by the 6.5 NA. No, it's definitely not fast, but it has not nearly as bad as I thought it might be. Guess I set my expectations nice and low. No problem getting up to speed and is plenty peppy off-road, even all...
I actually got as far as getting id cards from farmers, but hagerty kicked it back when it went through their underwriting. I suspect the same thing would happen with an online quote, but maybe not.
Yours is so close to 20 years i bet they let it slide.
Hey guys,
Looks like there's a few decent insurance options for HMMWV's, but everyone I've found requires the vehicle to be at least 20 years old (Hagerty, USAA, Nationwide, JC Taylor....). Any other companies I should try to get insurance on a newer model? My M1123 is a 2008.
I just don't understand the push back on registering these vehicles. I have no problem with them saying we have to ensure they meet a reasonable safety standard, but I'm confident my hmmwv is FAR safer and more roadworthy than my CJ7 and of course I have no problem registering that and driving...
