air brakes
I am not sure where the air brake drama is based. I have trucks with both and I much prefer the air brakes. I am shell shocked with the deuce brakes because I recently joined the pedal-to-the-floor club and I GUARANTEE you that it is not due to a lack of maintenance. I am in the...
Hey Bob
Bob,
Please give me a call. I would like to revisit this topic. What auction was it at? When? Was the FD logo still on the door? Any info to help me track down the gearhead that did this will be of great help.

They are front springs.
I will post some pics of the walkingbeam design. It is a jazzy idea in that they used a multipiece design that allows for movement at 2 joints per axle instead of just the fulcrum.

Sorry
Unfortunately this was a 1 of 1 deal. It was mfr in 2006 so they will not show up on the surplus market for a while. I could not repeat the deal if I had to... right place at the right time. It is the only type of pintle pull trailer with a dovetail in use by Uncle Sam.
The axles...
Drove fine
It drove fine. The air brakes on the trailer were a plus. It is an Engineering Equipment Trailer for use with the MTVR.

OK guys and gals... don't bash me for this very subjective test but here it goes. I loaded some dirt/bricks/rubble in a bobber and towed a trailer with a loader. The springs were taxed but not on the bump stops. How much did it weigh... I don't know. But the pics are worth a look.
I was...
Alignment shoulder
It would be nice to also include a beveled alignment shoulder similar to the hub piloted units. Without it you need a third hand to fiddle with raising/lowering the tire/wheel while hand tightening the nuts to get them seat properly.
It would also be nice to see a 10 lug...
Chucks Trucks
Take a look at Chucks' Trucks website. They are in Ocala FL and build mud bog trucks. They offer a 1 pc 6 to 10 bolt plate. Food for thought...

Alternate idea
For those with limited time...
I am sure there will be open seats available. Fly into BC and ride to AK then fly home. No one should be left out because it is too much time away from home.

yes but...
I just spoke with a man in Denton TX that is driving the trip to DC, BC. I am sorry to say that I will not be driving there so I will miss a large portion of the journey across the US.
PM me off line and I will put you in touch with each other.

Odd man out.....
I guess I am the only one on here that is looking forward to the slow pace! It is not an age thing because I am 37.
I am mounting 3 of the gss cobra seats on a roof rack on the 5 ton ESP truck and I can't wait to park my butt up there and see AK at 30 mph.
Camping on day 4...
No
The M925 has a .732 OD in the t-case like all M939 trucks. The ESP has a 1:1 final in the t-case. 6th and 7th are OD in the trans. 5th is 1:1
