Congrats on the Deuce Dixon very decent looking truck! Based upon your questions I am going to say the very first thing you need to do is get a set of Technical Manuals for this truck, you can buy a whole paper set from Portrayal Press or you have access and can download them directly off this...
Charlesman its been awhile since I messed with Deuce winch but if you look at the winch or better yet get a schematic of the winch there should be a disk in the winch that you have a brake band over and that is what actually puts tension on the drum, there is no direct contact to the drum only...

Thanks for posting this item and the information along with it! I never knew anything like this existed, never saw one before. Pretty darned neat and looks in beautiful condition!
Sometimes I think we have it to easy in ND (I am not complaining) but I have all my heavy trucks M920 and 977 HEMTT registered as farm trucks they still need the 2290 HVUT but other than that nothing else. The only restriction is I cannot be further than 400 miles from my home address with the...
First its spelled Winch, and NO that is not how the system works. Have you checked out the TM on this unit? They are on this site and are free for all of us to use and you will be amazed at how effective they are!
Kenn the bearing play your looking it and seeing is taken up with the axle nutt and the race when the bearing is installed, make sure to examine both the rollers in the bearing and the race that is associated with that bearing very well.
Hey guys I have a 1980 M920 and when I got it the truck had come through a complete rebuild the cable on the winch had never been unspooled, there is not an old airline or wire on the truck and completely repainted 3 color NATO Woodland just truly a beautiful truck! My question is this, on the...
98G thanks much for the thoughts on this and yes it will be light in the rear with no trailer on the tractor, and will run the truck at 55 mph. I will fill the rear up to 100 and just watch the tread contact pattern and reduce pressure as needed to at least get 80% of the tire face touching...
Hey guys this is a question concerning my M920 setup as described in the title. The tires on my truck are all 98% on the no wear side and the truck is going to be driven on a long trip the tires are not to not exceed 55 mph, does that mean I am fine at 54 mph or should I be in the 50 mph range...
Hey guys I have a question. I fired up my M977 HEMTT the other day first start in 3 years and it fired right up like I started it yesterday the problem came in when I went to shut it off, the fuel cut off switch would not shut the fuel off I later found the nutt had backed of the fuel shut off...
My 925A1 has been in the warehouse for 3 years have just been to busy with a Power Wagon Restoration to do anything with it. Early last week I picked up a new set of batteries and checked oil belts etc. I have one rear right single a bit low but my goal was to start the truck. Got the batts...
Is this one Deuce? If you have adjusted it down as far as it goes then this piece is probably not the correct one, either find the correct one for this application or if you can cut this one off. First make sure you have everything else where and how it should be look at the TM it will deny or...
Yoda are you running that new fuel its got like an ethanol or something like that in it? I try very hard NOT to run any of that in my trucks and pickup in the winter because it so prone to freezing up, and if I have to I at least double my dosage of anti-gel into the fuel tank. The stuff is...
Bobweb that radiator doesnt look bad, granted some of the support structure is showing some replacement potential but the radiator it self look OK to me. 1200 for fixing it seems a bit steep, my opinion only. How much for a new aluminum radiator? If its not leaking and it were mine I would...
I used lots of Dynamat under the floor and over top the transmission on my Deuce to keep the noise down a bit and it did a very good job on both the noice and the heat coming from the floor. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again, by the way I think all of these products are very close in both...
There are about 100 different ways to filter waste oil from a centrifuge type system to sitting 2 five gallons on top each other with a screen in between. One way that seems fairly popular is to have to chemical totes I think they are around 150 gallons or so and build a filtering system...
I have an M920 I put 1600s on and it sure helped the ride a lot keeps my RPS down a bit more at speed all in all I like them a lot. The only downside I have found is it increased my turning radius a fair bit, I have to backup a couple more times in a tight turn!
