[Q] Wait Light - ground switched?

Thanks @Mogman ! So it if I got this correct, I should: Disconnect the batteries Replace the glow plugs (Ugh!) Switch the glow plug connectors Empty my bank account and replace with a NARTRON or KDS S3, or Camotek (no Santa this year) Just connect the larger connector on the engine side and...

[Q] Wait Light - ground switched?

Here is a picture from underneath of the #1 cylinder. All the other cylinders seem to have a spare too. It is a 92. I was told the controller was replaced by the person I bought it from, but evidently he did not install a modern one.

[Q] Wait Light - ground switched?

Oh boy, now I am really confused. Mine has two harness connectors on the engine side as pictured above. All the pictures I see of the NARTRON or the KDS S3 have only one connector on the engine side  So if I use a NARTRON or KDS S3, or even Camotek - what the deal with my harness...

[Q] Wait Light - ground switched?

Yes, I always wondered why I saw a spare plug dangling underneath each glow plug. So now I know why.

[Q] Wait Light - ground switched?

Hello once again. I tried searching. I beg the collective for some more of your fine advice to help me avoid wasting tons of $ Before I upgraded to a 200 AMP generator, the Wait Light did not light for the last couple months. I would wait a minute after turning to run and the truck would start...

[Q] - Best way to remove lower bolt for rear lower A-arm?

Hi there. Another opportunity for you guys to mock me. I am planning on installing a rear winch. I have the m998 WINCH MOUNTING PLATE 12469385 REAR 5340-01-485-5962 I assume the rear lower a-arm bolt goes to the the yellow arrows. I don't have much of a shop, and I am old and feeble. I...

[Q] 60 AMP to 200 AMP Gen upgrade on M998

I'll post my final results, which I consider excellent for me being a old feeble newbee. This generator seems to function just fine as wired according to the diagrams shown above. The stock guage on the dash now shows a reading in the middle of the green range whereas before with the 60 amp...

[Q] 60 AMP to 200 AMP Gen upgrade on M998

The +24V, +12V are labeled. The red terminal is easily identifiable, and gets connected to 5A. The other two smaller terminals are not labeled, and are both beige. There is a yellow dot painted between the red and beige terminals on one side, which leads me to believe that beige one gets 2A...

[Q] 60 AMP to 200 AMP Gen upgrade on M998

NSN 2920-01-458-9238 - seems to fit. Just was not sure what the extra beige terminal should or should not be jumpered. I asked Niehoff.

[Q] 60 AMP to 200 AMP Gen upgrade on M998

Just wanted to double check the wiring for the three connectors on the 200 AMP regulator. I ran a 12V heavy gauge battery cable to the first battery positive terminal and will connect that to the big 12V lug. There are three terminals on the regulator. On one side of the regulator - there...

[Q] 60 AMP to 200 AMP Gen upgrade on M998

Hello, Once again I ask the collective for guidance on a question I came up with regarding upgrading a 60 AMP to 200 AMP gen. Please reference this YouTube: at the 16:30 mark. The creator references that there is a second cable supplied in the conversion kit that goes to the first battery...

    Transmission swap RPM issue

I had to read this several times so perhaps I am still confused since I am a newbie. Why did you not take the 6.5L and 4L80 together to the other truck? Is the 6.5 shot? When I swapped the TH400 with a 4L80 on my 6.2, I bought the US Shift tranny controller with their harness. I also got a new...

    M1097R1 battery replacement help

If you want the best, closest you can come to the military ones - the Oddyssey seem to be rated the longest lasting on this forum. I found them cheapest at Batteries Plus believe it or not. They had to be ordered but came in within a couple of days and they were fresh. They often offer a 10%...

Tranny dip stick and Xfr case size

I am not one of the forum's experts and I am surprised no one has chimed in yet on this, but I will give it a whirl. Regarding the transmission dip stick picture - the engine needs to be hot and transmission up to operating temperature when the dip stick is read. The engine needs to be...

Frequency @ AC terminal on N3135 Regulator with 200A Alternator

@Mogman is the ultimate authority as I am just a newbie here but here is my 2 cents worth :) I installed the Military tach, so I paid the HMMWV tax as usual instead of using something affordable. I just hooked it up to a "run" +24V source, ground, +24V from the dash bulbs and two sensor wires...

    Wiring

Not to hijack your thread, but this may be of interest to you for interior lights: How To: Interior "Dome" lights - without door switches To answer your question, I ran wire(s) direct to the 12V post and 24V terminal posts of the battery - fused of course, for power source. And I got ignition...

M998 6.2L 3speed Important Spare Parts for Road Trip

:ditto: A cell phone and AAA membership for a tow. Just let them know you need a standard flatbed - it will fit. But if you are stuck off road, best to go with some buddies that can drag you out as AAA won't do off road recoveries.

    X DOORS

I cannot answer the question about those x-doors on a helmet top as I am a newbie and the previous owner bought and installed what I have so I have no idea where they came from. But the x-doors installed, and the helmet top too are fiberglass. Kind of rough finish.
