    PTO Bearings

Sorry I dont know if the bearings can be sourced but I am sure they can just need to number, virtually every bearing mfg indexes off the Timkin #. If you have any rust on the rollers or ball depending on what type bearing you have then your going to have pitting you already have it apart good...

New member from Mattoon, IL. Interested in a M1088 to mount my truck camper.

Welcome from ND TGRCAT your plan sounds interesting on the camper on a 1088 but mounting it DIRECTLY to the frame is going to be a very potential problem for you. Because all of these trucks have a fairly high degree of offroad ability there is a fair amount of frame flex built into them to...

    M35A3 Tire pressure Opions

45 pounds in the rears sounds good unless your hauling something heavy then I would inflate to what the tire says on the side wall. As far as the fronts I would run them up to what the sidewall suggests, on the front axle of that truck you have around 12K pounds empty! KK

    Bumper-pull camper behind a deuce?

On my 5 ton I just pulled the pintle hitch out there is a big nut and a cotter pin on the back side and had a welding shop use the same diameter metal as the pintle is and build a drop assembly on it with a receiver on the bottom then you can take the receiver off your pickup and install it on...

M35A3 :: to CTIS or not to CTIS...

A good friend of mine who was a mechanic in a guard unit were talking once and I think I was licking up some parts from him while he was at the unit working his weekend and I was in the market for a 939 series 5 ton and I asked him about the CTIS trucks and he took me out behind the building to...

Thanks to Guyfang, Chris Miggins, and Robo McDuff

I find this very interesting I was led to believe that the only MAN trucks the US Military ever used were the 4 axle 8x8 used as mobile launching platforms for the Nike missile system, I had no clue we ever used the 4x4 version at all? Good info!

    Cutting an M105 bed?

Slate are you pointing at the space between the pillar supports, or removing the pillar itself? How much do you think the assembly you want to mount there weighs with the tire on it 300 to 350 pounds? Karl

    M818 as a first truck - opinions

As a first truck the 818 may be a pretty darned good place to start, they are simple, reliable, good parts availability, you just about cant go wrong with a Cummins and if you have problems on the road any Cummins service center will have parts for it. The other thing is you will most certainly...

5 ton vs 2.5 frame differences?

I dont know what mods to the 5.9 your looking at or the end result HP but one thing to definitely keep in mind is the very large weight difference between the two, I would not be surprised if the 5 ton frame assembly is twice as heavy as the Deuce. Another thing is you will never make enough HP...
