The company I work for has tractors and lowboys but I only have a class b license. I've been asking for a price to haul it but they haven't come through yet. I think I would prefer it being hauled instead of towed. If they tow it at 65-70 mph I'd be afraid of it throwing a driveshaft!
I bought a deuce. Now just gotta get it home. It's a 1970. It was built by Memphis equipment for a pipeline company at some point in its life. It's in aliquippa pa and I'm in uniontown pa. I'm checking into prices to get it hauled.
I have no clue why some of our dd15's are set at 1725 and some at 1900. They were set that way when they came from freightliner. I know I don't appreciate following those guys in the hills of southwestern pa! I liked my old 1991 400hp mack that governed out at 2200 rpm!
This my daily driver it has a DD 15 with an 8LL. It shuts down at 1900 rpm. I'm one of the lucky ones most of our other trucks shut down at 1725. Do you know how hard that makes it to shift pulling a hill loaded??
Thanks Bill that's all I need is another addiction! I'm already into tractors and chainsaws since i heat with wood. I just bought a kubota bx1880 with a loader and quick tach forks a year ago. I'm about 4 years ahead on firewood and the wife is still onboard with buying and bobbing a deuce!
Thanks for the quick replies guys. What are the specs on that truck? I was hoping to keep the stock tire and wheel size and build a small dually of sorts.
Maybe I'm crazy but I'm thinking I need a duece to play with. Been researching and have learned a lot. I'm thinking about maybe bobbing one myself. Any advice would be appreciated.
