Who's driving in a Parade on the 4th?

Gilbert Parade was nice again this year. I've been doing dashcams of it since 2014. Because each three minute video is so large (170 MB and larger) I will not be posting and complete set, which consists of 11 or 12 (12 this year) from each camera. This one is from the driver's side as I...

Who's driving in a Parade on the 4th?

The smallest file (I have no editing software) will be a three minute segment that takes up 175MB or so, but I'll try.

Who's driving in a Parade on the 4th?

I won't be taking still pictures, but will have the entire parade route filmed with two dashcam cameras pointed forward at a 45 degree angle. They sit in a foam device tied onto the center window post of the deuce. All in all, it will probably be about 4GB of movies.

Can anyone back up a M101?

And, keep the steering wheel movements small! Aim to only move from the 6 o'clock position to the 7 or 5 with your steering hand. I do the same thing with the MKT trailers, since they are not visible except in the side mirrors of the shop vans. And, when I'm backing in to hitch up with them...

Who's driving in a Parade on the 4th?

We (MVCSC) will be leaving the compound at 0700 headed to the Gilbert, SC Peach Festival parade with the MK48 USMC wrecker, two deuces, a mechanical mule, a HMMWV, an M-37 and several jeeps (depending on the number of drivers available).

No start and a big mess up with batteries

Wail till you can afford filters to do anything. The batteries should have never been messed with, and that is going to be an expensive lesson because you now have to replace the ones with the damaged terminals. Finish draining the fuel lines and the fuel tank, and remember unless you have a...

    MEP803A Total Output Amps

I'm going the hard wire route also. But I got a deal on some 1 ga wire to go the 40 feet between the generator and the new (manual transfer switch) main panel, the breaker is still only 60 amps per leg to protect the generator input to the house. The wire was about $150 cheaper than using new...

    Did I throw a belt?

You don't. That is how it gets adjusted. Tighten a little, bump the engine, tighten some more, repeat.

How do I get my generators to put out three phase?

First, Exactly what model of generator are they (each one). Second, you may have to lubricate (with something like tunerlube) the switch with it turned off and not running, then try to operate the switch a few times, then crank up the machine in the position you desire. Third, make sure the...

Tools for working on the Deuce

Start with a 10 ton bottle jack, add a good set of 1/2 drive SAE sockets with the appropriate handles, and you will be off to a good start.

Biting off more than you can chew

Only downhill, with a tailwind pushing those 'sails'. Which westbound on I-10 just ain't happening!

    Unit number

Because he's been getting too many PM's asking for the research instead of a public post, which could benefit others in the future.

Official 2018 Ga. Military Vehicle Rally info thread. Oct. 17-21, 2018

No need to bring it already waterlogged, we have hoses to affix to the faucets. Waterlogging is easy, drying out takes time and effort.

    Remote fuel tank for mep802a

And if you do as Light-in-the-Dark says, there will be no problems with "Was wondering about if line was to fail is there a check valve or some safety device to prevent tank from siphoning out." That is what "Prime and Run Aux Fuel" is for. No need to re-invent the wheel.

    NSN Numbers?

The WWII supply and technical manuals had a different numbering system. The parts manuals were known as ORD 7-8-9 for a particular SNL (Standard Nomenclature List) which was the official name of the vehicle (item, IE the Grarand Rifle had it's own SNL). The TM's started as two or three digits...

    Saving a couple OH-58's

Mother Rucker is not that far, if you need to look at some of the ones they have in the museum. I can send you a CD of the pics I've taken there on my two trips (a buddy got a Warrant Commission and is now a Black Hawk pilot).

    Denton 2018 Buy-Sell

I have four in the trunk right now, so all three of you will be able to get one. BTW, since these came off my MKT's, they have the four bolts to attach them to whatever you want. Early poster said $20 each, and that sounds fair since you guys jumped on them at that price.

M998 half door from PA/VA to SC

    1. he just missed out getting Lance Robinson bringing it back from NJ and taken to the Denton, NC rally, where it could have been moved at least as far as Columbia, SC, and possibly to the Greenville area by someone there, or direct from Denton to Simpsonville. 2. How fast does he need it...

    Denton 2018 Buy-Sell

If I can dig them out, I'll bring a couple of jerry can holders with me on Saturday. Will probably hang out around microjeep when I'm not wandering around the site.

Denton NC Spring Rally 25-29 April 2018

Sounds about right. I got pictures of Tigger talking to Cabell a couple of months before he died. I might have been once since but if so, it was just on a Saturday for a few hours. I need to get out in the garden this morning and finish planting the beans.
