Not real sure. I've always dealt with Sam (nothing but good experiences) - a couple months ago I sent a friend there after some items that I know Sam has dozens of. He stopped, after driving SEVERAL hours, at Ottocraft and asked to buy some of these these - someone there told him "we don't...
Continental Motors sucessfully demonstrated the engine, in LDS-427 form, to the military, using as I recall, 7 different fuels. In a past article, and past web postings, I've named them. But I don't have this information at hand at the moment.

I have photos of trucks with beacons in Vietnam. Out of several thousand Vietnam truck photos, perhaps 4-5 (other than fire trucks) have beacons - and from memory they are all wreckers.

RE: Re: MV Restoration Shop Recommendations
A few years ago I had a truck restored by Memphis Equipment in Memphis. I was pleased enough with their work that as I write this another one is sitting in their shop - I'll pick it up Monday. Some of my friends have also had their trucks done there...
Per ORD9 SNL G-744 January 1954 the 6 wheel cylinders could be Lockheed FD682 or FC1012 (the later being the bare wheel cylinder). Ordnance part number was B184346. The change in sie of rear wheel cylinders was made per TB9-837-10 in October 1955. The larger cylinders were for use on the rear...
All the 530 fire trucks came with hot water personnel heaters. NONE of those heaters were the standard military hot water personnel heater, but rather were unique to the fire trucks. The fire truck incorporates a heat exchanger with is used to keep the water in the tank from freezing (this too...
The military emphasized a thorough flush because any DOT 3 in the system negated the "benefit" of DOT5 (anti-moisture absorbtion). ALL the tests done by the military on silicone brake fluid indicated that there was no problem from mixing DOT3 and DOT5 other than the mixture would absorb...
I am now in Dayton, far from home. Kenny seems to have covered the bases though. IIRC the governor set up on the M108 is different from that of the standard gasser. Since your truck seems to have had a few minor mods - check that your governor is correct.
Reading accounts of evaluators and...
I'm with check the simple stuff first - it needs to be done anyhow. Also verify that the intank fuel pump operation is consistent. Turn pump on a bang-on, try to shift, the tank. I too have the publication concerning droop screw settings - don't remember if it is in the IP manual, or if it is...
I should be able in a few days to post a "comparison photo" of before and after weathering Gillespie semi-gloss OD. (I peeled off the door bridge weight classification sticker - exposing the unweathered paint beneath). I think I can do the same with Aervoe as well. (both of these on the same...
3 inch is the standard - and ditto on Rick's stencils. Many local sign places use the wrong typeface. There's looks OK, until you compare them to TMs or other "right" fonts.

RAM - er, ACE - has hit this dead on. If you tweak your carb so that it "smells" clean, then it is NOT set right, and you'll know it when you try to go down the road. I keep a spare set of plugs in the tool box ALL the time. In a M62 you can figure 2 or a LITTLE more MPG, regardless of Zenith...
With some work - but why would you? BTW, if you pull the R6602 and replace it with a Multifuel you'll be pleased with the increase in fuel economy, and terribly disappointed in the drop in power.

David
Depends on who you are selling it to - YOU obviously would pay more for the truck with the 6BT - I would only pay scrap value of the unmodded sheet metal and axles for a M35 with a 6BT in it. I would, however, pay more for a clean original gasser than I would a Mulitfuel anyday (and I have some...
Too test brake fluid - use an eyedropper to drop some in a bottle or glass full over water. If the brake fluid stays a "wad" - its silicone. If it mixes and disappears, its DOT 3. In my experience, turbo has no effect on idle.
