7-ton MTVR steering gear box leaking

I’ll need to pull mine. It seems like whole steering assembly bracket with both boxes needs to be dropped? I’m planning on putting forklift with extensions underneath to get it out, remove arm and unbolt box. I’ve only tested one of the 8 bolts holding on the bracket. 4 foot breaker bar with...

7-ton MTVR steering gear box leaking

Not the same failure but I just got mine home a year after buying. Actually drove it out in CA for 50 mi or so. No leaks. Hauled back to MA and somewhere along the way the sector shaft output seal failed. Fluid just pours out of the top. No mileage on it. Just time.

    Fan and brake fluid questions

You are correct. I does look like that lower pulley is without belt. Can’t really tell if there’s one on fan but it sure seems likely belt related.

    Fan and brake fluid questions

Replying to air pressure question. Yes air pressure looks in good range. My take would be that no air would leave fan locked and spinning anyway.

    Fan and brake fluid questions

You can see in video no spin at all with motor running. And I assume not running long. Totally still.

    Fan and brake fluid questions

Hello I just purchased an MTVR. Waiting for EUC to clear. Planning on a drive back recovery/adventure CA to MA. Yes, I know I’m taking a risk here. I’m planning on towing Yukon XL behind after driving it out there. At least I’ll have an escape vehicle. Don’t know how many saw this but I’ve got...
