The newer tent repair kits (newer tents made of same material) either come with GOOP or shoe goo. Using any of the repair methods including the welder both pieces need to be cleaned with "Scotch" pad a solvent to get a good bond.

Canvac is what has been used forever on true cotton canvas, it doesn't work and wasn't made for newer polyester/vinyl that came out back in the 80's onward. I say this as some folks think any fabric covering on a MV is cotton canvas. On either warm water is best.2cents
