    Purchased a 2006 Humvee M1097R1 - Need Help

I just purchased the above machine and need some help. I can't seem to find a TM Manual with this designation, can someone point me in the right direction please? This is my second purchase. My first was an S&S M1078 LMTV, and I have enjoyed restoring, tinkering and driving it, so I now wanted...

I started with the two-battery setup, so plan to keep that. I live in the South, so it rarely gets below 32 degrees here for very long. So far, the dual batteries are fine.

I must have been lucky, as all I had to do was remove the screw and the caps slid right off with no effort. I got lucky on my truck because it was listed as a "non-runner" and it had a flat on one of the tires, and one of the side rear windows was broken out, so the bidding was low on it. I took...

    Alternative hydraulic hand pump.

As for the heater, I might offer a suggestion. I did not install one in my M1078, but I have a self-build camping van that I installed one of the Chinese diesel heaters. I got mine off of Ebay for around $100 about 3 years ago. I installed it in my van and that thing works like a champ. A lot of...

Just pump it up for a bit, then turn all four manifold valves in every direction a few times, then I removed the refill cap on the pump. Careful though, open it slowly, as the pressure may cause the fluid to come blowing out. I had to do that 3 or 4 times before mine started moving things...

As an afterthought here, you could probably email someone at Parker and find out the correct sizes of the backup rings as well if you needed those. Their purpose is to keep the high pressures from distorting the o-rings into a position where they might fail, so the backup rings don't really wear...

    Alternative hydraulic hand pump.

I was having the same issue. Replaced the O-rings on all four of my manifold valves and then the hand pump worked flawlessly after that. That is probably a 30 to 45 min job at most. I had to rebuild the Hydraulic pump next to get the air to raise things properly, but that is not that difficult...

Last weekend, I used the $5 O-rings we cross referenced and I rebuilt my manifold valves. That got the hand pump to easily raise and lower the cab and spare tire. This weekend I used one of the rebuild kits on the Hydraulic pump and rebuilt that as well. As with most everyone that has done...

Thanks for posting this. I was able to find the PDF with these same numbers by digging a bit more, and I already placed an order from Allegheny York. A total of $65.00 including the backup rings. I guessed at those a bit, and they were the most expensive part. Without the backup rings, it was...

I need the O-rings and backup rings for the knobs on the manifold. There is a kit SK10-4, but it does not give the size of the o-rings. It only gives you a kit number that is $100 per valve, and I need to rebuild all 4, so I was hoping someone might know the sizes of them. A previous post...

Does anyone know the size of the O-rings and the backup rings, as I want to rebuild all 4 of my valves? The kit is like $98.00 for one valve, so $400 to rebuild all 4. I just can't see paying that for some o-rings. There has to be a way to figure out the sizes and order them directly as farming...

    Cab Vent Knob

I didn't think about the set screw type, so as long as it fits on the shaft, the set screw should do the trick. Thanks for the tips.

    Cab Vent Knob

I've seen some that appear to be screw on knobs, but not sure how you can verify they would fit? Do you know of any that will fit for certain, as I already considered this, but didn't want to order something I couldn't use.

    Thanks, just let me know.

    Cab Vent Knob

Anyone know where I can find one of the screw on knobs for the vent or defroster pull knobs? Mine is missing for the vent. I also need a knob for the dash dim/brighten switch. If anyone knows where I could find these, that would be great.

Strange sound coming from rear end

I will look into these suggestions. Im aware of what balancing a shaft consists of, but what is indexing, as I am not familiar with that one?
