How many "off road" vehicles do you have Frank? It's too bad that the HMMWV controversy is spreading to the deuce and 5 tons. I think we all face the same problem now....a manufactures association writing the laws to their benefit, not ours or perhaps even considering our views. Now back to...
"Valspar Automotive paint mix system"
That sounds like the difference. I don't know the system but my hardware mixed Valspar flat house paint (acrylic latex) to the FS number (dark sandstone not green 383).
Great find....it looks like the predecessor to a 105.
My experience is to use more primer than one coat under Acrylic Latex, premium or not. I've got rust coming right back through the water based paint over time, especially when I only put one coat of rust inhibitor red oxide.
I have...
I offered to help set up and operate one out of Grissom ARB in N. Indiana. It's available by air and is on an intersection of major roads....and has LOTS of place to have warehouse...having empty speculator buildings. It's perfect since most area does not require security.
They blew me off.
If you have all of the debris out, then try it....you have very low risk of a failure that would threaten your or someone else's life.... since you have working brakes. Buy one and rebuild it on longer time frame (unless the one in it fails). I think the key is getting out all of the debris...
With only about 2' of chain under the truck boom, it's surprising how far it can go forward when motivated on a slight hill. Did it poke through or dent it up? Did you hit the brakes a bit too hard?
I didn't say he had to pay the fee to place the wanted ad, just that paying a membership supports the site (well maybe I implied it a bit). Totally free makes us look cheap...which many of us are and have accepted that fate. Oh well....
Isn't the 5 bolt with big lug nuts like the M37 too? Is that wheel capable of dual-ing up or is it just a big offset?
Chris, I see m116 with hummer 8 and the 5 lug like the m37 but no 6 lug like a deuce. We'll see when he puts the sides up.
There has been too many moons for me to say for sure. I believe they did but I have one set on a trailer that is not staying up long term.
That is a 3/16" dia x 14.00 inside and buna N, 70 duro...sounds right but I don't have any apart to measure. I do more 20".
That is modern day camo.... to disappear at a fire scene.
Are they fiberglass? Can you hand scrape the old, sand and have solid materials to primer and paint?
Which rear driveshaft are you referring to, the one from the transfer case to the first axle or the one between the two axles? They are different size I think. What is the "plug" you are referring to?
You should probably put this in a "parts wanted" ad. If you have not paid the members...
Door and frame had a plastic vulcanized to it and I thought the whole unit needed replaced. After seeing the new cost, I did repair. Now adding a full view storm door and side window. Edit....and steel hand rails.
Cracks in tires from setting on flats (CTIS) or egg shaped (GY AT-2 bad about that). Does it run? Are brakes working? Does it build air to 115 or so. Is the bed (check springs too) badly dented from hauling heavy loads (physical appearance). Does the tranny shift right? Has the TC went in...
L1A1.....The FS numbers can be mixed at almost any paint formulator....they all have the information if they are smart enough to access it. Behr seems to be very good quality, but almost any hardware has access to the formula by the FS number. I've taken it a step further and paint my house...
Ben....One of the guys that bought (2) 5 tons from me traded 6 of them in Firestone on 6 lug bud rims. Two of the rims had less offset and must have been front. Tires were old but in great shape.
When M105's were plentiful from GL I bought several that had new 9.00 on them. I put the new...
Yep....looks like two traffic lights. If I'm seen on the roads (being one of the slowest vehicles), it will be worth it to avoid being rear ended. I have not seen a green lens yet.
Every light there (and new ones on the front) will have a 3 wire SO cord going to it from the (added) control...
