Hello all,
I need your assistance.
I am converting my 1010 into an off-road RV. I have an unused circuit in the box for the filtration units.
I’d like to tap into it to power the “box”.
Easy enough, but my question is how can I separate that circuit so I can power it off the truck while...
Check my threads. I’d yes and no.
its complete, the compressor kicks on after a recharge (converted to 134a by prior owner). But it doesn’t get cold even though it has a charge.
Hey all,
I’m reconfiguring my M1010 come RV. Decided to ditch the litter/bunk and support bracket as well as the A/C unit. Compressor to box.
Anyone want/need any of these? Not sure what they’re really worth but I’m not looking to get rich off them.
Thanks
I get that exact thing happening.....when I forget to flip the main power kill switch. I tried tightening the crap out of my alternator belt and it still slips. I think my one alternator gets hammered trying to recharge the batteries.
I’ve since loosened it and flip the switch and all is well.
Update:
I talked to Performance Radiator again and we’ve elected to take my old rad and remove and clean the passenger side take were the oil lines connect and put it onto the new HE rad. Then I know my oil lines will fit and I’ll get the benefit of a mostly new rad.
Thank you on the clutch mod. Turns out the rad shop said GM changed their thread pitches that year.....gave some adapters but he gave 18 pitch male side and 18 on the female.....getting closer. I’ll take the new rad and oil lines into their shop tomorrow and get it resolved once and for all. The...
Ken,
I decided to use a micrometer and a drillpress and drill the new holes offset. Used a 1/2 socket which the OD was just a papers width under the hole for the centering stud on the pump pulley. Made a template and went at it. Came out perfect and couldn’t have fit better. Pic below.
Now for...
Ken, thank you for the added info that really helped my piece of mind.
i found one on fleeBay on close out for $44.99. I’m going to take a chance on that one.
i really appreciate the assistance.:naner:
Ken,
The information in the specs pdf for the Hayden 2828 don’t list the bolt circle diameter. Happen to know....just don’t want to purchase another item I can’t use.
Thanks a bunch
Ken,
Thanks for the part number!
Below is what it said it fit in the listing so I thought I was good to go, but I guess not. After seeing the list I figured the odds were in my favor.
Update:
so I’ve Learned a lot about radiators. Turns out they have quit doing 4 row (core) radiators since they came out with a high efficiency 3 row design that uses smaller fines and tubing. I’m told these are the new wave rads. Anything that was 3 rows gets 2 now, yada yada yada.....
So I was...
The compressor will run when I run my own leads the first time, then subsequent runs it tris to engage but can’t or doesn’t. When it was running is when I checked the charge.
Gralmk,
thanks. I recharged the system tonight and nothing. I then ran leads from the battery to the compressor and it would fire up but I still wasn’t getting cool. Of note we tried this 3 times and on 2 and 3 the clutch wouldn’t fully engage. After the 3rd I smelled a bit of clutch material...
Update:
Paradox kit installed. 7 bladed fan from a Suburban 6.2L on the way. Ordered 4 row rad from Performance Radiator.
I’ll install them both when they arrive.
Also, cucvrus the radiator looked a bit worse for wear once I removed the top cover and shroud for a better look at it.
Thanks all...
Hello everyone,
I have a few air conditioning questions for the 1010.
1) the fan for the a/c will run even if the master kill switch is off. Is this normal?
2) the unit has been converted to R134. It was overcharged so I bled the pressure off until it was in the green. The compressor still...
