I've talked to the guys at ISO parts and they don't like dealing with small quantities. Maybe your luck will be better but they deal in volume to the governments (ours and others).
I'll check it out tomorrow but try using the FS code, not the old Behr code. The FS codes have not changed.
The FS code for desert tan is FS33446. A lot of Home Depot folks don't even know the FS codes are there, but if they'll key it in, it shows up. The question is whether or not the FS code...
I spent a solid 12 hours on the deuce today. The left front hub and wheel is clean and painted. I got the right rears off and cleaned, but painting will have to wait for another day. I did get both hubs cleaned, primed and painted. While I had the pressure washer out, I washed the whole truck...
So that was a mistake. I had Floetrol sitting on the shelf from my last paint project (Behr house paint) and like I said, I've never sprayed oil-based paint before. I didn't even think to re-read the label because my mind was telling me that it was for all types of paint. Your post prompted...
Sorry about the long-winded answer. You ask me what time it was and I told you how to make a clock!
Anyway, I found a couple of hours this afternoon to get a little more done. The left rear set is all mounted up again and the left front is off, washed, and touched up since it was painted back...
I scrubbed the tires and wheels with degreaser, a good brush, and then pressure washed with a 25* tip. After they dried a bit, I hit the old paint with a rotary wire brush and used a die grinder with 80 grit on a couple of spots that needed extra attention.
After blowing off the dust with...
I mostly finished the left rear set of wheels and hubs. There were some distractions, but mostly I was just taking it easy and enjoying this great 65 degree sunny weather.
This is what they looked like before. I still have the right rear and both fronts to do. The winter mud, snow and salt...
Thanks Andy, for the map and info. The Gate 3 entrance is located at 33°55'5.91"N 83°59'11.02"W. It looks like the area marked out for the parking display is about 450 feet long by about 50' deep.
Now I gotta get my truck washed and prep'ed so she's "parade ready.":jumpin:
Just going off of my somewhat limited experience on my truck. I troubleshot repeat occurrences of oil in the hubs. I never found anything wrong with the seals, but in every case the keyway plug had either failed (original cork) or the silicone had not been properly applied (my fault). I cleaned...
For the PVC seal setting tool, I used a piece of 3" PVC gray electrical conduit with the flared end (bell). The diameter of the bell is an almost perfect match to the inner seal. Put the inner seal in position and then put the belled end of the PVC against it. Whack the other end of the PVC (a...
We survived Snowpocolypse 2014 with no damage and we never lost power. We are among the fortunate and we're grateful for it.
Last Sunday, I took the time to put the snow chains on Betty, just in case. It was weird out there sweating in 60 degree temps, putting snow chains on in preparation for...
I appreciate all comments and I have no intention to badger anyone, especially Tigger. He obviously has significant experience with this type of thing and I value his opinion.
So much so, that I'm re-thinking the way I jack up my truck in consideration of his comments.
My comment about him...
My thinking exactly on the lift point, prior to this thread and reading Tigger's advice (PC for losing a freakin' screw). I don't want to damage the diff.
So, my previous logic was:
A) I'm certain that I've seen numerous places in the TM's where the lift point was the diff housing. I'm still...
I have the same problem. I fully understand Tigger's concerns and now I'm worried about breaking my diff housing. I have on many occasions, lifted the truck with a 20-ton bottle jack under the diff. I use (again I understand Tigger's concern and I'm re-thinking my method) a block of hard wood...
Ron, you have Ferro in position 13 and in charge of convoy maintenance. He needs all the luck he can get. You want to move him up to position 7 and make sure position 6 is carrying a lot of tools and spare M37 parts, and position 8 is a winch truck?😆
