Yeah i can make anything really. The printed data plate decals i need to sub out but lettering or any other decals i can cut right here in the shop on my vinyl cutter.
Btw i do have the other decals i can make. Didnt know you needed them or i would have said something when you bought the kit. Oh well, prob just as easy to get them locally.
not saying it is the diodes but if they are as bad and corroded as you say then even if its not them it wont hurt to change em out and clean up all the heat sinks. that would be one thing to cross off the list when done. those things are cheap and it doesnt take too long to do.
Absolutley john, thats why i restore the units the way way i do. Unless you really go through these things i think there will always be the annoying little issues. Imo, better to just go through them 100 and take care of everything so you have a really reliable unit. I think deuce's question was...
Ok there are a few things just to check and confirm. There is a spring that pulls back on the arm. The spring where hooked around the arm is a corkscrew looking adjustment. That should be roughly in the middle, from top to bottom. Assuming your throttle cable is set all the way in and its still...
to give you an idea, i pulled an 002 apart with 3600 hours and the hatch marks were still in the cylinder bores. if maintained i believe they are well over 10k. probably about double that.
Huh, interesting etn. when i was in they told us the carc label was a carcinogen warning. Guess theybwere wrong or i remember wrong. On the other hand if your right and it is a polyurethane, since it has no catalyst to add to it then it would be moisture cure and contain isocynates which is...
here is a link to the wiki and my 003 rebuild thread. both have good info

of course there are alot of good topics here and great info. if your...
Both 002's i bought had bad voltmeters. Both were the same brand, plastic faces and all rusted inside. Just replace with a new one. Newark has brand new simpson gauges for $90. Look toward the end of my 002 teardown and rebuild thread. I have a pic and part # for the gauge.
i looked that up and only one is avail in stainless. the metal thickness is .005". thats about like the flexible dryer vent hose from the local home depot. not sure i would consider that for exhaust. maybe there is another one listed there that im not seeing.
the exhaust is standard 1 1/4" pipe thread. you can get fittings right from home depot or plumbing supply. a 1 1/4" union would be an easy way to disconnect the exhaust from the unit
Yeah john, thats all the manufacturers wiring. They did have the neutral and ground bonded together. Not no more though. I took care of all that. As for the box, that is grounded. It came with a ground screw so i ran a ground wire to it.....thanks
quite awhile back i picked up two of those distribution panels that surplus center has for sale at about $8ea. i have been wanting to do something with at least one of them so i finally ordered up a few parts so i can put one to use if i ever have the need. i see some guys mount them to the...
haha john im glad you asked it because i didnt know either. never heard that term but if it was from the 70's then that might be why since i was born in the 70's and wasnt in the military until early 90's.
Actually thats an interesting idea rob. Basically a lockout for seperate panels. Is that a common way to do it? Is there a kit available for this or do i need to design something up?
Yes in our setup it wont work and in mine i cant even run a dedicated line to my main panel because its 600ft away. I am forced to be careful. Is no real big deal for me though since i know whats going on. I would never want anyone else to start up the gen though and try to power up the house.
