70 years of the BIG Lift Berlin/Germany

Thanks for sharing, forgot about this thread.

    New T813 Owner

I will have a look next week for cabins. Are the 813 and 815 cabins the same or have at least the same parts?

    New T813 Owner

That definitely is a brilliant starting point. If it is mechanically ok, there is not much wrong with that beast (apart from the fuel consumption). Front door would set you back about 350 €. Shipping an entire cabin over there would cost you a fortune, but I can ask if you want. That rotted...

Probably several people who could help with cabin parts, certainly from the Czech Republic, but getting it shipped to down under is either very expensive and quick or just expensive and slow. Showing some pics of your truck and the problem parts always helps. nopics

Hybriden, welcome. How do you like life in the Czech Republic. Nice truck.

Lost and Found, a 50+ year journey

My respect, heads off for all involved in this search. This is a truly great job involving a seemingly small and insignificant thing.

    European auctions

I am not that into sports cars, always liked more rugged things better, like the Toyota BJ40s The two exceptions are the Mustang and the Jag XK120. Recently saw some modern Mustangs, and I have to say they still appeal to me. As to the auctions, I think too many "ordinary" people already know...

How many miles on a multi fuel?

As mentioned above, it might differ what was used as fuel. I use only straight diesel in the multifuel, as was the intention to use if possible. If you do so, probably these engines will continue waaayyy longer than the rest of the truck.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2021 - December VOTE HERE!

Even if he is already the clear front runner, anybody with some nice pics of Microjeep's CUCV? Almost forgot, just casted my vote as well

To make your eye and mouths dribble a bit more. The prices are final auction prices.   Ford Mustang 1965, original US papers and import to EU. Price $ 9,050 Ford Mustang 1967, ditto, Price $ 12,160 Ford Mustang 2005, price $ 14,430 Harley Davidson, XL883 54 CI...

How many miles on a multi fuel?

Check the engine tag (on the engine) and the relief print on the engine. My 5-ton multifuel was supposedly from 1973, but I later found out that I have a 1965 M51A2, and both engine and truck were overhauled in 1973. Maybe its still the original combo of truck and engine, maybe they repaired the...

    New T813 Owner

Hi Kuso, welcome, and let me know if I can help getting some stuff. I am living in the Czech Republic, and I am restoring an 1953 NSU bike for my nephew, who is living in the Interlaken area. There are I think at least five or six members with the Tatra Kolos on the forum, but haven't seen...

European scrap - salvage yards and parts suppliers

Mostly no, these are auctions of confiscated goods or bankruptcy or ending of a company. Only very rare do they have something like "army surplus" where the Harley was, or "oldtimers". I think I saw three-four older heavy bikes coming along, mostly 60s-80s for the older, and after 2002 more...

    Cab stretching…. Anyone?

OK, what is a DOKA, and what is Dutchland: the Netherlands (from Dutch) or Germany (from Deutschland)? I can have a look around here, I am a Dutchman living on the border of Austria.

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I would have to ask the Dutch DoT if I can include this in my system. Problem is, in the EU, ANY change to the brake system has to be registered and approved. If not, in case of a brake-related accident, the insurance company will say that we made not-approved changes to the system and as such...

    New Project

Been there, done that. Gratefully, I did not understand my better half completely, but she more or less told me to stay in the Netherlands than coming back with that green monster. Both of us are happy I am still here. Probably I downloaded this from Steelsoldiers, or I came across it...

    European auctions

Is that Allison something I should have jumped on for that price? I don't need to earn money on it, but maybe it could help somebody in dire need of such a thing, don't know how common they are stateside. If you are not in a hurry, shipping it by sea cargo to the USA would be around $ 300...

Thoughts on Adding a Flat Top Sleeper Cab to an M900 Series Truck

Forgot about Dave's set-up. That one is one heck of a set-up, perfectly done. That truck was runner-up for the July 2014 MV of the month, but nailed it the next month August 2014. Those were the good old days we had 20 contestants without problem, and Patracy had to use two posts to stagger...

European scrap - salvage yards and parts suppliers

For our European members, the latest just closed auction for ex US Army surplus sold in the Netherlands. Maybe you miss it because its in a section for US auctions. Its worth to keep an eye on; Troostwijk has auctions all over Europe. Sometimes they also link or post for German and AUstrian...
