Btw, just watched this video (my way of saying its still active / available). I didn't find the WHERE to grease all that useful, BUT... in the first section of the video, it has a couple tables of info on lubes (both grease and fluids). That -might- be useful to someone. I think those tables...

Radiator cap, Murray 7016. Mine was leaking, went to Oreillys had them find something that matched (seems like 90% of rad caps use a small number of designs). So far been working well
I just changed the transfer case fluid on my MTVR yesterday, i went and used straight weight detergent SAE 40 oil in mine. I figured the military had lots of 15w40 oil around, lord knows they use it in almost everything else on the truck... if they specced something different for the TC...

For clarification - which lube / synthetic in particular causes 2nd gear seizure? a synthetic 80/90 GL5? 80/90 GL5 MT1?

I'd love to hear more info on that truck, I've got some business interests where I've thought of getting a military truck and adding a roll off / hook lift system on it (I work for a local garbage business.... and we're 100 miles north of KC, so there is no competitive overlap with that...
