It made no sense why the polarity was reversed (I swapped out the starter/solenoid before figuring this out.....for it couldn't be that simple). It made me realize the old adage is true with surplus equipment : " Assumption is the mother of all F ups"
We just recovered a Mep 002 from Jefferson City Mo last weekend and had some time to go through it today. The oil was fresh as can be, the diesel tank looked brand new (along with the fuel......nothing on the bottom of the tank)........though the batteries were shot (would not take a charge)...
Picked up a bottle of ether, put into M925.....started right up after a quick shot. I had trouble locating a bottle except from Napa (local Freightliner dealer did not have nor were they buying them anymore)
I paid $50!!!! Any nationally known sources that stock ether at a better price...
Hi Colin
Welcome to the site.
I just replied to your PM. There is a "tire guy" in Marshfield WI (Rodney)......he is absolutely the best guy I've found for our hobby. I purchased a 16R20XZL on a combat rim, delivered to my place in WI.....for a great price (tire is 95%, currently using as...
Congratulations!!! Nice looking dump'r !!!! Rodney is absolutely the best to work with (he delivered a 16R20 XZL mounted on combat rim for a very fair price). How was the ride?
Here are a few pics of the plow in action (need to wait for frozen ground or go with rubber tires) and a print of the caster wheel drawing for autoshopteacher.
3/4 mile long driveway (big snow drifts that laugh at snow fences). Between a Bobcat, Yukon with a Meyer plow on it....and a John Deere with a blower on it......this completes our arsenal for winter weather battle.
The plow is a quick disconnect (drop the lift cable, pull a handle and she's...
****......I was literally in your neighborhood a week ago (saw some clients in Bozeman and Gardiner).....and went hunting just north of that mega church in Gardiner (could see it to the south from our perch up on one of the mountains). And I'm coming back for "chico's"......best dinner/swim...
It's a bouncy ride. I drove a bunch of 20,000 LB loads at 45MPH and it was plenty fast (with a little play in the steering wheel on the big tires.....mine are 16R20xzl's......it made me slow down and concentrate a little harder).
A spare at this size will need to be carried in the dump (to...
Primer handle? I'm having a similar starting problem with my 925 (even slaved it to my 817 as batteries gave out)......but not sure of a primer handle (i.e. my namesake, Neophyte.....new beginner) on the 925. The OEM ether seems to give the engine a bump, though not enough to start when...
I ended up not needing the Northern valve as I did a hybrid system. The trucks hydraulic valves are open at neutral, so to apply to a dump cylinder, you would need to swap out the valve (or add to) a closed valve at neutral (and I wasn't to sure how to do this with out $$$$ in the process)...
Three months later, and the plow is on the truck. I ended up using the M925's winch hydraulics for the plow's left/right tilt cylinders (they're 5" monsters) and a 24v Haldex power pack for the lift cylinder. It was a fun and challenging project. Thanks to the members who posted their plow...
I was in Montana for business over the past few days, and saw these at Yellowstone National Park (friend works for the USFS).....and took a few pictures of these beauties.
I'm hooking up hydraulics this weekend for the same. It's a hybrid system (lift cylinder on 24V pump), but should do the trick. The plow is an old Gledhill I refurbished (fabricated the caster assemblies vs. shoes)....been a fun project.
What type of plow/mount ?
Gentlemen,
With my winch off the truck, I figured this would be a great time to re-seal the hydraulic motor and adapter (as the current seals disintegrated when removing them from the winch). Does anyone know where I could source these? Possible rebuild/refurbish kit?
Thank you
