Where can I buy these bags from the scouts?
Eagle Scout 1986
When ever asked where I learned to shoot, my answer : "The Boy Scouts". "You could earn a merit badge if you shot 10 targets at 50 feet, with 5 shots in a pattern no bigger than dime"
A few pictures of the mounting bracket (bought from a truck wholesaler who had it in his junk yard....specific to the plow) and the 2"x4"x0.25" tube welded to bracket plate and rail plate (1/2 " hot rolled steel, cut with plasma cutter).
If you know the plow you're using......let me know and...
Removed the winch last night and wanted to see if I missed a step I didn't pick up in the technical manual. The manual stated to remove the winch lifting from the front, though I couldn't seem to clear the front rollers....so I removed them. I also found the hydraulic motor hard to get at...
Jeff has recovered a 925 and two Mep 002's for me (and a friend). He's extremely knowledgeable and a valuable asset to our hobby. With a semi and a trailer.....I've upped my "don't need but want" list of diesel powered toys coming up at Ft. McCoy.
Welcome from a new guy myself!! I'm 8 months in and find I can't get enough time to play with these trucks (5 tons). The technical manuals are a god send (everything you could possibly want to know is in there) and the folks in here are top notch.
Be careful......for I found a single truck...
POR 15 Metal Ready.......just used on a snow plow that was completely rusted (and through in a few places). Painted with Rusty metal primer the next day......worked like a charm.
I couldn't agree more. I ran a couple dozen loads of gravel at 20,000 #'s per with exactly the same in mind. I constantly said to myself "if the brakes give out, or some one pulls out in front of me.....where is my out". I drove slow, pumped the brakes well ahead of each intersection, and...
Check with the manufacturer of the plow......you'd be surprised how helpful they are (upon telling them what you're putting their vintage iron on). I'm working on a Gledhill QCP hitch for a plow I picked up at an auction (now with a little primer on it prior to final paint). I thought about...
Haha.....I beat you to the punch. I tore both of them off about two weeks ago showing a friend what a 6x6 Military truck can do (of course when I was backing down the hill I climbed). I heard a "Snap", "Pop"....but no "crackle" (saving that one for the 5# hammer I'm going to use straitening...
As a "junkologist" wantabe.........I'm plan on doing this project with the M925 winch hydraulics. I've spent a couple hours looking though the technical manuals and can't seem to find much about the hydraulic valve body on the pump.
From what I can tell the valve is an open system at...
I Learn something new daily. My rear upper center lights (from trucklite) are 12v or 24v vs. 10-30V as my bucket LED's are. I found this out the hard way (ordered the stop/tail/turn ovals ....and they were 12v, not the 24V I thought they were).
Me too. It's like "American Pickers" but of the OD steel kind. I've learned an enormous amount of knowledge just reading through posts/TM's here on S.S.
After e-mailing S.S. member "autoshopteacher", who provided invaluable advice on a snow plow for the 5 ton, it became "necessary" to start this project for the 925 (aren't they all "necessary"...?).
Picked this plow up at an auction I won this week (11 foot, 2000Lb's, lots of rust....waiting...
