    Central FL M1031 project

Made an unscheduled trip to Alabama this week. I had some down time today and found a salvage yard that had 3 squarebody trucks. Only one was available as a parts source. It was a 350 gasser but I found the electrical connector that I have been needing for the park circuit of my wiper motor. I...

Are there tips and tricks to get the side mirrors to stay in place?

There is a plastic tube. I have tightened the two bolts as far as I dare, the mirrors still move when the doors get closed and sometimes just from the wind going down the road.

The wipers still seem slow - it may be time for a new motor…

Are there tips and tricks to get the side mirrors to stay in place?

I have tried tightening the bolts clamping the tube for mirrors, I have changed mirrors(first set had distorted glass). I cannot get them tight enough to not move when a door is closed. Help please.

    Windshield wiper link assembly

This evening I got it all back together and working properly. I had to engineer the two connecting arms together so I had a good connection to the wiper motor and I had the correct wiper pivots. Now I have newer wiper arms with j hooks as well. Now I just need to find the connector for the...

    Windshield wiper link assembly

So, I have ordered a total of 3 wiper link assemblies from LMC. 2 ( 36-4044 )of them had the correct arms to connect to the wiper motor but the pivots are too short. 1 ( 36-4046 ) had the correct pivots but the motor side connector was a rubber pop-on that does not fit the wiper motor. Has...

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

Did some poking around in the fuse panel today. I removed the diode for the horn relay, unrelated to the GEN1 light. Horn seems a little louder. I did find that the blower motor/Gen1 light fuse is/was melting. I cleaned the contacts really well and put in a new fuse. Hopefully that, and having...

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

Light goes full bright when the key gets turned off. When the alt stops turning the light goes out.

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

It is very dark outside… but the gen 1 light still comes on very dimly when the blower motor is turned on. I just went through my copy of the schematics in color that are posted on this site. To the SS member that created those, THANK YOU! The schematics in the TM fail to show you where the gen...

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

Well, discovered today that the previous owner had installed a non-isolated alternator on the driver’s side. I now have the correct alt installed. All seems to work well. I will check again after dark. Then I will reconnect the 4WD switch.

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

Good morning! I have been cleaning grounds this morning. All engine compartment grounds are clean and tight. The 6 legged connector under the dash has been cleaned and tightened. I added a secondary ground to the blower motor (replaced it while I was in there, the original had a squeal, removed...

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

I have cleaned the ground under the dash. No change in gremlins. Today I will clean all remaining grounds and add one for the blower motor. I will check voltages after that. If needed I have a spare alt.

    M1031 Apecs 4500 controller programming

That quote was the cheapest I have found. The other two were astronomical in price and are US based. The first quote was from the netherlands.

A new (maybe) Gen 1 light question

Good evening! I have come across a new to me issue. I have recently put my M1031 back on the road. I noticed yesterday while out running some errands that the Gen 1 light was on dimly. Voltage guage reads in the green at all times. A little setup- before the Gen 1 light was noticed I was not...
