    Air Compressor/Opinions Please

"Stupid" idea, how hard/expensive would it be to set up a small compressor and air tank system like what's on the M series trucks? I can attest, it's nice having 90-120 psi on demand, just not familiar enough with the HMMWV to know if there's room under the hood and such......yet 😉

    Air Compressor/Opinions Please

In my world "oilless" translates to "disposable", may just be me. After seeing that and reading the three star and lower reviews, I would say it's a pretty expensive gamble, especially pulling 90 amps, unless someone wrote the review for the wrong product.

    Piston

    Piston

Ok..... I'm back from the rabbit hole. 37 pages later, and now we know for sure, the answer is yes, you can put LDS pistons in an LDT engine. You should put LDS pistons in an LDT engine because they are the same, or at least after a certain point they were the same. Same cam, crank, everything...

To blast or not .. and then what. Professional advice sought

I wondered about that stuff forever, just waaay to skeptical to try it 😆. Definitely going to pick some up now knowing it works.

    Polaris MRZR-D4

https://www.polaris.com/en-us/shop/off-road/maintenance/service-manuals/9927276/?pfm=search I'm sure they'll sell you whatever year you need, this is just what I found first, unless from 2017 on they're all the same, I don't know enough about them. Hope it helps

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

Any update on this? Sorry to pester you about it, super curious to see if it was the injectors after all.

MV of the month April 2024

I'll go first!!! What you're seeing is one of the happiest M35A2's in existence! 1969 Kaiser Jeep, factory hardtop, rocket starter, and water heat system installed and intact! She's crusty, rusty, banged bruised and beat up, but who couldn't love that smile?

    Piston

To my knowledge they aren't interchangeable, there's a difference in the shape of the piston tops that doesn't allow the LDS pistons in the LDT. Of course I haven't had one apart, so I'm just going on what I've read. Very curious though, as I have also read that late model LDTs are just LDT...

    M923A2 high EGT fix!

That 100 percent sounds like an exhaust leak at the manifold to me, if I had to take a wild guess, I'd say it's between cylinders 2 and 3.

    5 ton grease zerks

I think we might need some pics to diagnose the problem correctly, of the zerks and the gun chuck.

    I am baffled!

Maybe @Retiredwarhorses can shed some light on this, if anyone aside from everyone already on this thread is going to know or have experience with an oddball HMMWV issue like this I think it'd be him. I would try the washer thing mentioned earlier myself, seems the simplest place to start.

    Webasto Heater?

So after a very confusing time on Google, my hypothesis is you have a wabasto water/coolant heater, A/C units seem to have the condenser and lines next to the cylinder. On the back side, there should be a "water manifold" with in/out ports where the coolant lines should be run. From what I...

Does anyone "float the gears" when shifting M39/M809?

I was curious about this as well, more so for the M35 but still, I'll have a 5 ton some day and it would be nice to know. Also if OP doesn't mind my asking here, what's your opinion on "free wheeling"? I was raised to always let the vehicle coast in neutral (with manual transmission) while...

    Turbo vs no turbo

From what I understand, there's only a performance difference when you turn the fuel up and dial the truck in, factory army tune is 5psi, air force/navy tune is 7psi (not sure why they're different). When tuned properly to 12psi, there is a very noticeable difference, although exhaust temp will...

    Deuce Wiring

You got it, and as expected when the switch is flipped a two ton acme anvil flops out of the bed and bam, problem solved 😂.

    M6 Rolling Wheel Liquid Transporter

That's got to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen. If I had to take a guess, I'd say one port on the wheel is fill, the other is drain, definitely wouldn't be putting fuel in it, if the outsides are that bad one can only imagine what the bladders on the inside look like. Maybe @Guyfang...

    Deuce Wiring

Food for thought, you could wire one of these style panels in easily, the buttons under the switches are circuit breakers, so each switch has its own, and the switches are 12v and 24v capable. Marine grade, so water proof, uv resistant, etc. Not the cheapest route, but one of the safest.
