In my Yanmar manual the illustration is for the dipstick just resting at the threads, I.e. not screwed in, the L100 Yanmar part number is 114699-01760. I don't know if it crosses over to the L70, but I believe the same cap was used on all L-series engines.
Available on e-bay for about $10, or...
Oh, yes.
Low compression would result in a less than ideal combustion, and therefore further over fueling as the governor advances the fuel lever at the high pressure pump.
However, and it is a big however, those washers are notoriously difficult to see at the bottom of the injector tunnel...
Great point! These wires are tough but sharp edges and wires are never a great combination in my experience.
There is a similar edge on the '803s as well, IIRC. I remember adding some additional wire management in that area on mine to get wires up and away from an edge.
All the best,

A dead short is a low resistance connection (short) between two conductors.
After a lightning strike, I think that going over every single electrical connections is prudent. I would bear in mind that relays, contractors, and breakers have all been known to weld contacts shut, and between...
Yes, the trouble with a well sealed enclosure is what inevitably happens and water gets in.
Everything is as strong as its weakest link. Personally, I think that the synchronization / transfer switches are located in a pretty harsh location (on a fender, out in the weather and road spray...
That's great that you plan to keep a close on eye the generator.
Running a diesel engine out of fuel is not great for the injection pump(s) as the injection pump relies on the diesel for lubrication. Being a very tight tolerance mechanical item, it doesn't take much to trash an injection pump...
That's a great first step, but there is still the connection at the end of that line (dirt, debris, scratch, etc.) for a possible site for a leak, and the pump itself.
For the unit that I mentioned above, there were no bubbles in that line, they were getting in just at the connection to the...
FWIW: Those l70/l100s are prone to overfueling if there is air getting into the fuel line. 90% of the time it is an air leak on the suction side, and the air leaks can be hard to find because it doesn't take much air to mess things up. I had one that turned out to be a hairline crack on a fuel...
For what you need it for, I would second the phase converter suggestion, but not a rotary phase converter, a VFD, which for 15A will weigh about 7lbs and be 12"x6x"x6". E.g.

If you buy something that isn't the...
Congratulations on fixing the issue!
If you have fuel quality issues at the site, you might consider using a Racor style filter unit with a clear bowl. If you have concerns about pressure loss across the filter, I would go up a size or two, which also gives the filter more capacity.
All the...
Thanks for clarifying that. My apologies, I have only seen the large military RO, Reverse Osmosis, systems. That looked like a small US civilian style transformer to me.

Better to drain the tank now when you have time and control, than later when you might not. I would suggest that as this generator is new to you, while you are changing the tank nuts, check for debris, slime, and crud in the tank, and wipe the inside clean. No sense in washing crud into your...
+1 on this. Mine has @kloppk's regulator as well because it is better. It is based around a very very respected and bullet proof digital regulator design that is used across the power generation industry. Kurt has made it very simple to drop into an MEP by bringing out controls that are specific...
215V should be within the generally acceptable range for EU voltages per the IEC, IIRC. (215/230=93%, which is within the -10%, +10% general specification. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60038) )
55Hz, not so much, but unless you are trying to run analog clocks or certain motors, most items...
