Yes sir it would. Please pay attention to how you hook it up and the Jumper wires on the VR. Its not hard, just that you have to look at the red sticker and READ the TM. The one you had in the set is older than most people in the forum and was replaced in the late 60's, early 70's with the new one.

Thats the old style VR. I would start with downloading the TM's and checking the main gen. If its good, then you are looking at a new VR.
