    M1097 (1986) not charging.

That's a Prestolite that has been resting next to the Titanic for the last 30 years. Time for an up grade to something a bit more reliable. I have a name in mind, CAMO

    LED replacement no flashing

This is likely going to be the fix for a thermal type flasher or even a solid state requiring a load. Resistors kits are sold (auto parts stores) to do just that when switching over to LED's. More Thinking  One might be able to place one resistor at the flasher output lead, taking care...

    Strange Crank No Start Condition

BINGO !! What did it win? Not another toaster lol. Sleep or study up on the DB2 metering valve. It's a little fuel control valve down in the bottom center rear (from front of truck) of the reservoir that needs to move freely. Looks like a little wing flipper thingie with linkage. If sticky /...

    Strange Crank No Start Condition

Wasn't clear to me in the bingo story. (not assuming anything) Did you ground the cover to the housing? It is very possible the solenoid coil has open up, and it is one of the tests the boys pointed to here. Sometimes one just as to sleep on it. 🛏 SO... do you really have a BINGO or was it a...

    Strange Crank No Start Condition

All good points to think about... My 2 cents. After the IP fuel cutoff solenoid testing of clicking if it can be detected? or voltage and resistance of coil checking good... crack open one of the easy to get at injector lines at the easy to get at injector. Easy step to check fuel is on its...

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

IMO... Fix the one glow plug, then move on to the other checks if necessary. First time cold start with one plug out can produce a puff of smoke like you describe. Simple stuff easy, then get all dirty. CAMO

    86 M998 Starting Issue

Lots of questions and what if's... was the military SRS switch replaced or mis-wired? Is this one of those after market "Key" jobs? A little more history / detail is helpful. Hello, Not sure who we have based on the user name... Using a Camotek product, we are here to help you work thru the...

    M1097R1 Cooling Problem

My guess is the Cadillac valve solenoid maybe shorted. Coil resistance should be in the range of 58 to 78 Ohms (wire to wire) AND check each wire of the solenoid to valve body for a shorted winding to assembly. One should NOT get a resistance measurement on this test. TOSS IT if you do. Make...

1097R1 with a 200A gen intermiten charging issue

Not all "boxes" have contactor (solenoid) inside. Some are full of fortune cookie relays and chop stick parts. All of this in the American Military HumV. What else could go wrong? CAMO

200A shipping damage, how bad is it?

Completely and totally unacceptable. Vendor should know better with such a heavy, somewhat odd shape and expensive item. New is NEW, not a parts unit. Pictures and paper work and they eat it big time. $$$ Amazon... keep it and we will send you a new one. LOL IS this where the term "Drop...
