Could be as simple as sucking air into fuel system. What do the rubber fuel lines look like? Have you checked the clamps on the fuel lines for being tight? Have you used a clear fuel line from the pump to the fuel return line to see if there are air bubbles in the fuel?

Good Luck with the truck. The truck was a 1028 before the front posi D60 was taken. The rear 14 bolt full floater is relatively easy to replace with a civi rear, either a 3.73 or 4.10.. The front axle can be replaced with another civi or military axle also.

Have you tried the search feature, it works quite well. It may give you a baseline to work by.

Get the front end up off the ground and inspect the joints. Get Soldier B to help inside the truck and turn the steering from lock to lock. Inspect the tie rods, how easy do they rotate by hand. Under hard braking the issue is amplified even more.

copperline, a few question. Is your fuel the same fuel during this whole process? Does the fuel have ethanol added,10%. Are you using a fuel additive, Sta-bil?
I ask because what is happening sounds like either you have a distributor coil to points wire intermittent grounding to the distributor...
