    WOOHOO got my truck plated!

I am guessing that to title and use on State roadways the original use as a MV must be adhered to. Maybe the State does not want to have gypsy carryvans with LED lights.:rules:

    Driveshaft

And most salvage yards have, use Hollander interchange manuals.

    Driveshaft

Measure the length of tube from flange to flange. Call salvage yard and tell them what truck you have, length of tube.

    CUCV Master Keyed?

I have had good luck with LMC in the past on other parts, never tried locksets as they are still available at most auto parts stores. On civilian trucks it takes two different types of keys to use both doors and starting ignition on steering column. On the CUCV the original key works both doors...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2020 - June VOTE HERE

Well again the Green Iron makes a Great showing for MV of the month. I am kind of surprised that campaigning this month has not reached the two page mark. I would bet that the Brigade would love to see some more pictures? Thanks to the participating members and voters for taking the time to...

    Got a new m1009

Wow I bet you made that Guys day. The equipment you had is hard to find in having it so complete. You are happy and he is also, good deal. The antenna and brackets can be used for CB radio's after conversion. If you do some off roading or on roading the CB does come in handy.

    Newbie With a 1984 M923 - So many questions...

Just to add on to what Tracer said, I will use a 3m product called Drip Check for body seems around sheet metal joints, been used by the car makers for years. The product works great for me, I use it around door edges allot as the old stuff wears out after 25 30 years and needs to be refreshed.

    Newbie With a 1984 M923 - So many questions...

Nice looking truck! A great group of Guys here that will give very good advice and steer you through any hardship encountered. With the young Troopers you have it may be a good accessory to get a set of steps or ladder for the back of your M923. Welcome and good rubber, brakes and fluids keep...

Welcome DeDHaze from Missouri! If the truck has not had the speedometer replaced then 90,000 is a few miles on a CUCV. The few things to look at are the transmission dipstick level and smell of the fluid. What does the power steering box seals look like? Does the trans, transfer case look like...

    M1008 Project Fire Rescue

Having access to another CUCV is going to be very helpful for your repairing or verifying what is original or modified. Hopefully the 1028 is an original truck and to be able to use as a pattern. Hopefully you can continue to keep your truck as original as possible. Parts are still available...

CUCV - Slow cranking when cold

Check the pos cable to the starter solenoid. Check the purple wire going to the solenoid. Are they tight? How long has it been since the starter has been serviced? Brushes and bushings do not last forever and the symptoms you list would cause some of the same problems.

    M1028 4.56 to 3.73 ?

Less torque is needed with higher numerical gears to have a better mechanical advantage. Transmission gearing is a compromise of having the best gear speed for optimum advantage of the available torque. I would say that if you ask any trucker what is the biggest factor in driveability he will...
