Another newbie question so please go easy on me. I did some searches and found some YouTubes, but I still need advice. '92 M998
I have probably done a hundred brake jobs but I never did one with inboard brakes. The pads look thin so I figure since it is 30 years old and I don't know what was...
I received a check in the mail from the DMV refunding the Title Fee I paid, and the Warranty Fee, whatever that is. So that confirms that they would not give me the title even though I requested it and I sent in the VIN verification form but from Florida. I don't blame them for not accepting and...
I just recently installed them a few weeks ago on my M998. Seem to be of decent quality.
Nice to be able to lock/unlock them from the inside as I live in da' hood and a locked door should delay any car jacker a few seconds so I can dispatch them with ease.
Holes matched what was drilled in the...
I call the Vermont DMV and I will post this information for those following my saga.
They stated I will NOT be receiving a traditional title. Vermont does not issue titles for vehicles older than 2008. Instead, your registration acts as your title. When you sell the older vehicle, you give the...
Thank you for all the replies.
I found when I have the engine shut off, if I press on the shifter into HL and maintain pressure, and start the engine, the shifter seems to click into the HL as soon as the engine starts the shifter moves lightly and clicks into HL and the car moves back and...
Please take it on this newbie as I already have enough issues and I don't really need anyone busting my chops more...
Regarding my 92 M998 that I just got last month. I figure while I was waiting for the title registration issues to be resolved I would fix a few things. I figured out that 4wd...
Thank you for the link. Shows:

Oh rats - no way I can get it up there for an inspection. I will call them and see what they say. A clean title is what I need.
When I saw it was a sticker for a plate I thought it was an error, but on the front of the envelop that the sticker and registration came in, it was pre-printed and stated:
That is just crazy
Maybe they have to wait for the convicts to make one? :p
Gosh, I hope that is not the case. I cannot use that title that the FL DMV defaced to sell the M998 to anyone else. At least not according to the Florida DMV.
If that is the case, I would pay the original seller when he gets back from deployment to get a duplicate title and just sign it and...
Update as of Friday.
Very strange. Today I received a sticker for a license plate, with what appears to be a registration. No Title, no License Plate to put the sticker on. Very wierd, at least to me. All the states I ever registered a car the plate came with the sticker on it and matching...
Another status update.
This is very strange. Vermont DMV mailed me back the original out-of-state title from the seller and I signed and Florida "invalidated" with a handwritten note that read:
They kept all the other paperwork I sent them, including the bill of sale, the signed odometer...
Well, one positive thing happened - my check was cashed for the sales tax, titles and fees from that fine New England state that is still free loving. Maybe I have a shot at a clean title!
:):):):):):):):):)
Permit me to make one post with a huge thank you to the forum members that messaged me with generious offers to help and great advice to help my situation. I thank you all for that! Terrific group of members!
I will not make any further posts until I have an update. No point. I am in the...
ARGH! I just mailed it. Figures, my luck. Maybe they will take pity on me and just give me give me a clean title. Hard to believe they would turn down a juicy sales tax check. I don't care about plates anymore. If not, I guess I have to wait for them to return my screwed up title Florida ruined...
One of the great things of Florida is there are no vehicle inspections whatsoever. Yeah, we have all these construction vehicles that dump their 20 foot step ladders across two lanes of interstate traffic, and kill a few people - but inspections won't help that.
Florida state agencies used to...
When I went to the second DMV (state) office of the day, and waited an hour for the head beurocrat to come out to exert his authority, we asked if we could have it treated as a Antique Military Vehicle. He asked if we had any pictures of it and we showed him one on our phone.
He then stated...
Actually, she found and bought this for me as a retirement gift. So how can I complain? I just should have not brought her to the DMV and I could have gone postal! She is a keeper!
