Step 11
Plug in the transfer case 4x4 indicator plug on the top of the np208. This is the only electrical connection needed for a pre 1986 700r4 swap. Pic 1
Step 12
If you have a warranty on your 700r4, I recommend having the transmission shop install the tv cable bracket, tv cable rod, tv...
3 of 5 star rating…
This review is in regards to my newly purchased Trailworthyfab.com 24 bolt beadlocks with 3” backspacing, pressed centers, custom rock rings and pvc inserts.
Pros:
1. Well crafted!
2. Beautiful powder coating
3. Heavy duty and pretty much indestructible
4. Very nice and...
Agreed! The p400 components are indeed better! So far, I have not seen any documentation on any P400 blocks cracking or heads cracking. I also have not seen any documation of an older block, that has been crack proofed to have actually cracked. That is why I made the comparison.
Love the motor...
So both the 6.2 and 6.5 is “Knocking”, I would try and figure out what the knocking noise is before you go crazy on spending huge amounts of money. Could be something simple, like a bad injector, lifter or ip timing could be off.
Steel crank is not needed. Waste of money. Crank failure is cause...
Yeah… if you calculate the cost of the switch, coolant lost, mess made, labor etc… I might just bypass this bad boy! I got plenty of room on the dash for more switches!
Yes! Thanks! Better then paying over $100! Gee I had 10 of these switches and sold them all last winter… that’s how it goes, when you need it, you don’t have it….
Step 10
Install front and rear driveshafts. Pic 1-2
As you can see in pics 3-4 you will not need to shorten or lengthen the driveshafts. The driveshaft angles are exactly the same as it was with the Th400/np208
Step 8
Reconnect the transfer case linkage. Pic 1
Step 9
Reconnect the Transmission Linkage.
Do not forget to install the spring and plastic washer. Pic 2-4
Connected Pic 5-6
Both step 8 and 9 does not require any adjustments of the shifting linkage.
Steering column does not need to be...
Using gravity, it is impossible to fully flush out a 6.2 or 6.5 motor of its coolant and contaminants. The design of the coolant passages prevents this. Hence the common overheating problem.
You have to force flush it with pressure by creating an adapter of some sort to hook up to the motor...
Step 7
Put a generous bead of Optimum Black on the adapter. If you prefer to use the gasket, that is an option as well. Pic 1
Lift up the freshly rebuilt Transfer case and put it part way on the shaft. Let it hang. Clean the 6x9/16” bolt threads and put on thread lock. Clock the Transfer case...
Step #6
Install the Th400 Crossmember.
The Th400 Crossmember with the Long 700r4 Adapter is a direct bolt on! No drilling into the frame is required! Because it is a direct bolt on, you will also NOT NEED to shorten or lengthen the driveshafts! Why?
The Th400’s length from bell housing to...
