HPS has quality silicon hoses for pretty much everything except the pre-formed lower hose from the trans cooler to the radiator. The temp spec on their hose exceeds the mil spec by 50 degrees on the top end.
I’m not using a lubricant additive, although at one point I had asked about that on the forum. I drive my truck regularly. Letting them sit for extended periods, like the military did with my truck, isn’t good. People complain about how unreliable the Pacbrakes are, say they get stuck closed...
I would use them if they were the new injectors that superseded the original ones. The originals were apparently problematic, and from what I have read, the newer injector, among other changes, has screens to prevent debris from a failed HUEI pump taking out the injectors.
Does anyone have a CAT OEM parts source that is good to deal with? My local dealer here in Kalifornia is Peterson CAT and they never answer their phone and don't call back if you leave a message. I sat on hold for the parts department for over an hour on one call and on three calls selected the...
So, my trans serial number 6510837456 which falls in between those two numbers. So, does that mean I don't have the bad bearing but also not the new composite washer?
Talked to an Allison dealer today said the thrust washer is $418 and has to come directly from Allison, no dealers stock it. They were supposed to check an additional source and call back but I didn’t hear back from them. Sounds like they have zero familiarity with 3700SP but they should be able...
I'll take a look when I'm with the truck next time. On another note, it appears there is a gasket between the C6 housing and the t-case body, either that or it's a very nice sealant job. Anyone have a part number handy for the gasket? My computer with my A1R TM database is with my kid currently.
Well, my truck seems to be the one that just sat and had parts scavenged off of it, so I doubt it had a new trans put in it after 2011, but who knows. As low as the mileage on my truck was, I doubt it even had any fluid changes done, so probably unlikely they swapped in the new thrust washer...
Can someone who has purchased this part post the contact info for where you purchased it. I have no current issue with my 2008, but want to eliminate the chance of having it in the future. Thanks
Anyone know if the doors on this Oshkosh built FMTV cab are retrofittable to an A1R? They are supposedly from a MAN cab and from what I have heard there are a variety of parts from man cabs that fit the Styr cab on our trucks. The cab appears to be the same Styr cab. Thanks
Okay, bearings are enroute. Bearing is a TLA 2020Z. The oil seals are separate parts and are VB 26x20x4
Bearings found here.
Oil seals found here, and they are a a slightly different seal in that the steel portion is rubber coated. The wiper portion that rides on the shaft is the same. You...
Anyone have specs for the roller bearings in the pulleys along the frame? Mine are all seized up and are not recoverable. There is a somewhat local bearing supplier that I plan to visit when I have time, but thought someone here may have been through this already.
I'm likely going to wait until I can find a good HD Allison tech that knows what all of these settings do and how they all interact. The exhaust brake as I now have it set up is, to me, a must for a truck with Eco hubs and will be even better when the target gear is changed. I would also like to...
