I'm willing to bet the high pinion rear diff easily adds 200-300 lbs, maybe more. There is a lot of iron in that housing. Anyway, at some point I'll get it on the scales. I have removed a fair amount of weight too. All the cab interior storage, middle seat, troop seats etc.
No, just giving the info off of the plate on the door, but it has to be pretty close or they would be creating a situation where the truck could be overloaded since it states what the GVWR is. If the curb weight is actually only 17,500 and someone loads it to it rated max, you would be putting...
The curb weight of my 2008 M1078 A1R is 19,598, GVWR is 24,598, rear axle is rated at 11,158, so I would guess the rear springs in an M1078 A1R are the same as a 1079.
Anyone have a line on a supplier for the braided stainless air line to the actuator on the Pacbrake? I'm not aware of anyone locally to make one for me so, I'll be searching the web for a generic replacement, but hoping someone has already found the part. Thanks
No, the O-ring on the back of the wheel and the O-ring under the CTI lug nut are all there is. My CTIS system works perfectly and I have had zero issues…knock on wood.
Yes, this is why I was hoping someone knew the compressed length of the A1R coilover. The only feasible way to figure that out if you don’t know what it is, is to compress the shock and measure it. That’s an undertaking on an A1R coilover for obvious reasons.
It seems from the lengths of the...
Kinda, but not really, there is upward and downward travel, so you have to get the truck in a situation that will fully extend the shock, which might not even be possible with an unloaded truck, but would think the coil spring will help in that regard.
Yes, I understand about the weights, but it will be several years before I could get final weights since I'm building the truck in an adventure rig. If the performance series shocks are available with adjustable damping, that will significantly help in terms of getting the valving right. I ran...
No I didn't, but I have no interest in an extended wait to get the shocks. Spoke with King today, interesting, they have zero knowledge of ever having built shocks for these trucks. Anyway, if I do a 3" body performance series king, they can ship in 6 weeks.
So it sounds like fox stopped making the LMTV specific shock, and it seemed like they were marketing on shock for both the front and rear. Aren't the A0 and A1 front and rear different? I have an A1R so the front is obviously different. Getting rid of the overly stiff, and noisy, front coilovers...
Does the second monitor you linked allow you to display 4 cameras on the screen? Obviously by scrolling through the inputs would allow each camera to be displayed full screen, but can you get all four on the screen?
I have a Garmin Tread XL in my truck, that I like for nav duties on and off...
Thanks. Fortunately, the only circuit used since adding the fluid is the cab lift. So I'll focus on that first and then move on to the others. The fluid I saw getting pushed back into the tank when I lowered the cab was red, so it's either the right stuff, or power steering fluid which would be...
I'm going to call the local aero supply shop down at the muni airport and see if they have it. I'm sure as always that you have the skinny on the best way to flush the system? The seals were just replaced in the cab latch and pump, so I would like to keep them healthy.
Well then, somebody should revise the fluid capacities section of the LMTV part spreadsheet. Guess I'm sucking that fluid back out. Seems like an undertaking to purge that complete system.
Thanks. I normally suck out the reservoir, disconnect the supply and return lines from the reservoir, put the return in a bucket, then connect the supply line to my pressure bleeder and force fluid through the system until clean fluid comes out. Reconnect the hoses and fill the reservoir. Done...
I need to flush my PS fluid. Curios what procedure you all use to do a flush? Would like to use my vacuum/pressure pump to do the flush, but given the hose sizes, connecting to one to force fluid through Is likely going to require some fitting art. Anyway, it's a little bit of an odd layout...
