Croft Trailer sells all the factory parts for the surge brake assembly.
Great prices and excellent customer service.
The TM will help you identify any missing parts from yours.
Sounds like you have a plan.
The A3s were not built in the numbers the A2s were. You scored.
There’s pros and cons of anything but I only have the A2s and have been extremely happy with them.
A3s are much harder to find.
eBay prices on bows are ridiculous.
Post in classifieds if interested...
Read the old threads of all the different trailer builds.
Lots of amazing and clever builds for these trailers.
Should give you plenty of ideas for your build.
The GL warehouse in Oklahoma City was always packed and busy, but when GP took over they immediately closed it.
That left a big surplus hole for Oklahoma and surrounding states.
Sure there’s still GSA, etc. but GL was the dominate force in this area
Unless you live in or close to...
The only difference between years that I’m aware of is the HP rating.
The 84 is 135hp I think and my 87 is 155hp according to the emissions sticker on the stock air cleaner.
It includes the year and HP rating.
So this trailer is definitely putting up a fight
Installed NOS wiring harness that was made for a “normal” M101 series trailer.
Except this isn’t a normal trailer and I had to modify the harness by splicing in an additional 4 feet of military 14ga wire and moving the factory splices back...
Several guys have used strong magnet stud mounts to mount the tag on tailgate.
It stays put without drilling holes and can be removed for parades/car shows or before heavy work to prevent damage.
Trailer Tags aren’t required in Oklahoma unless for commercial use so I don’t have experience in...
Congratulations!
Not sure about new hubs, but You can install another axle with the hub bolt pattern you want.
Dexter makes one and several guys have done it with great success.
It all depends on what you want to spend.
The M101A1 is a great trailer, but You would have been better off...
Please post the shop name and town it’s in.
Do not mention that mechanics name here.
It will help others in the future in avoiding that shop.
Also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Yes
They were not supposed to hand your truck over to another shop without your permission...
I assume your mechanical fuel pump is working?
If it’s original to the truck or you haven’t replaced it since you’ve owned it that might be the issue.
Their a total pain to change but inexpensive.
Basic paragraphs and readability are always appreciated.
Your post was like one continuous sentence and very difficult to read and follow due to lack of capitalization and paragraphs
Please be more aware of this for any other posts.
It’s also one of the rules.
Thanks
Rent a trailer.
The dolly idea would be fine for short hauls, but will bring attention from the State Police DOT officers
Would be a LOT safer than a dolly.
You would be money ahead in the long run just buying a new trailer to haul your new old trailer.
UHaul isn’t cheap.
Nice score.
It’s old but looks to be in good shape except for the wood.
Is there a Data plate on the front frame?
Can’t tell in the pics
It will show model and make & year of manufacture.
I see the data plate on the front of the bed.
That will/should also show that info also.
