    M1025A2 Question

If this is your first purchase with Gov Planet 4-6 weeks is pretty optomistic. The End Use Certificate process moves along like any typical government activity. Sometimes you can start a family faster that they move! LOL

Stoplight Switch to Brake Pedal Linkage

I went even further with my new switch. I picked a waterproofed, normally closed switch and mounted it so that as soon as the brake pedal lever comes off the stop it turns the brake lights on. No free travel adjustment necessary. The AMG garbage design of a switch with zero free travel...

    wiring diagram

What model? M998 or one of the variants? Most of them are about 90% the same but there are specifics based on the model you have that can trip you up. Make sure the schematic you find is for your truck!

    Plymouth, Ca April meet info

The interactive map for the upcoming Plymouth MVCC meet is current as of 3/23. If you have been following it and believe that you are currently registered I'd suggest you take another look at it. We have removed the names of everyone that was on the map from when we were planning the meet in...

    HMMWV Serial Number Lookup Tool

While this is a good idea and would be very helpful I would worry that the Gov and States would love to have this information and God only knows what they'd do with it! If you have friends in the services or law enforcement there is a system in place that they can draw basic information about...

89 M998 "metal bang" noise seemingly from rear?

Two things come to mind. One is there should be a spring between the brake rod and the chassis to keep it from hitting things and grab both of the driveshafts and see if there's any play in them both vertically and horizontally. Bad U-joints can cause strange noises.

    brushes ingenerator

The brushes can be replaced after removing the rear regulator cover from the ALTERNATOR. The easiest way is to remove the alternator from the truck and then pulling the regulator on the bench. That way your niot trying to work at wierd angles. Then it's just a couple of screws that hold the...

    Leaking soft top

Pull both of your windshields and use some silicon sealer to seal them up. It's not uncommon for water to run around the gasket that holds the glass and the frame. M series vehicles were known for it. As for your vinyl top, just seal the seams with a good tent seam sealer. They're going to...

    Newbie Fuel System Issues

Take a voltmeter and check for 24 volts on the #54 wire on the top of the injector pump with the ignition switch turned on. There should also be an audible click from the IP when the switch iis turned on. This is what opens and allows fuel into the IP when the switch is turned on. The...

Rear Axle Differential & Geared Hub Vent Line Question

I thought about this quite a bit when I first got my truck and was worried about the vampire. What I decided to do was to remove the poly line from the air cleaner and put an aquarium airstone in the vent line where it connects to the filter. I put a small vinyl cap on the fitting on the air...

    M998 Alternator adjustment

Soak the plug with Kroil for a day or so and it will break free with a little effort. Kroil is the best product I've ever used on frozen hardware.
