That's funny!
I agree, pull the shaft first before you order. Confucious say 30 year old truck have many hands in it!
Either way, I would probably shy away from a locker, especially a lunch box locker for a 10 bolt. The carriers are weak and the locker adds stress to that. The shafts are...
Thank you for posting that up, very informative regarding DRL's. I just do not like how they have turned DRL's into being so bright that they need to be deactivated for the turn signal to work. Seems confusing and counterproductive. It grabs my attention which means it works but it also is very...
Agreed
Sometimes they need to be covered too! This and most LEO's (not all) have no idea what the law really is and make up one to enforce. Seams to be a common problem with automotive state inspectors too. I remember when the Jeep Liberty Renegade model came out with the roof lights, a few...
I have a traditional conversion lense that came with a standard H4 bulbs. I don't even think they have DOT markings on them so legality is questionable. Since everyone now has LED headlamps which are focused like laser beams when oncoming, backup lamps that stay illuminated when the driver...
I personally would go with something compatible with 24v to keep any extra draw on the entire charging system and not just the 12v side. My plan is to add some headlamp relays, install 24v H4 bulbs in my conversion lense.
Have you been up I84 right at the NY border? I think the DOT on both sides have lost there minds...
If that doesn't get you, the calcium slurry in the winter will eat a brand new car in about 3 years. Chances are you won't make your trip home :)
That would be an interesting poll, who has been able to drive all the way home successfully without any repairs from a GL purchase?
Even private sales are questionable because many people have different ideas of what mint, driveable, and good condition are compared to me. When my M1031 showed...
I always thought women cost a lot of money but it turns out 4340 chromoly, diesel fuel, and plate steel adds up quickly! Women are certainly cheaper than trucks, airplanes, boats, and dirtbikes. One exception though, I never had one leave me! :)
WAIT...you said 0.05v on the input side of the relay? That is what I read along with 0.05v at the GP terminal?
Can you be a little more specific about your test locations? Assuming you have a bone stock GP system with a resistor bank, did you do a visual inspection? I want to assume that the...
I think you could only arrive at this diagnosis if you pulled the drums, inspected the rear brakes, made adjustements, and verified with a road test. If your base brakes are not operating correctly, you can't blame it on the valve. I've seen lots of guys with Toyota bend them or make adjustments...
If you plan on actually using your truck as a cargo mover, than I would probably keep it or install a manual one that was mentioned. I think I bought one off Jegs or Summit the last time I did it. Sure you can get away without it but dialing in your rear drums (especially drums since they tend...
That may be a great utility setup as it gives you a place to stand when working on the engine and possibly some storage recessed behind the bumper. I would also say that anyone looking to increase off road capability which is typically done with the addition of a winch is going to stay away from...
I'm amazed at how my M1031 on Goodyear MT's goes from being an absolute useless stuck brick in 2wd to tank in 4wd, not to mention these also have Detroits out back as well. I hate to say it but my Subaru Forester with a center and rear limited slip diffs on bald tires will run circles around any...
Even though installing A/C on could run upwards of $1000 if you are not sourcing civy K5 parts and possibly converting to 12v to get the oem bracketry to fit, I think it is a wise investment. Especially if your Cuck is pretty clean, I think it adds value and comfort which are good resell points...
I vote for the Tractor Supply Exides...cheap, readily available, and they just work
I've owned a few Optimas and had good luck with them, I've also installed numerous Optimas in friends and customer trucks with bad luck. For the money, I would buy something else. If you need the "Optima"...
Doesn't the M998 have dual filters? Maybe I am thinking remote filter instead.
You could always just install the taller filter option discussed a few days ago.
Not quite sure what you are referring to. Unless you are utilizing a self energizing regulator, you should know how to troubleshoot the charging circuit on your truck regardless of the engine that is turning it. GEN1 could have the same issue down the road that GEN2 is having. They are basically...
