Transfer Case Shifter Hard to put in High

My transfer case does the same thing. It was hard for me to learn where neutral is on it since it feels like high range has a couple detents, which it actually doesn't. The LO doesn't show another grease fitting for the thing. I'm tempted to see it's a normal thing, but I'd like to say others...

    Greasing a Deuce

Thanks for the advice everyone! I hit most of the zerks on my truck this past weekend. The U joints were super easy to get to, so were the parking brake zerks. The front passenger spring shackle wouldn't take any grease. I haven't tried using a nail to push on its little spring ball yet -...

    M35a2 Squeaky brakes

All my vehicles do it until the brakes warm up. Both my Chrysler daily drivers with all disk brakes, and my deuce in its first few stops for the day. I don't think you have anything to worry about. What I do every time I bleed the air tanks after I park the truck for the day is check the...

Thinking about pulling the Deuce Trigger Again

I like the fact it has dual-circuit brakes the most. Otherwise I wouldn't mind an air force A2. I miss driving a manual transmission!

MV of the Month May 2020

I'll nominate my M35A3. I finally had a sunny day to take a picture of it!

I will pay $20 dollars to the first person who posts a picture of M35A3 jackshaft installed with ruler showing ujoint center to center!!!

A little off-topic - that looks like quite a project! Do you have another post here about what you're doing on that truck?

    CAT 3116 initial startup hints/tips

Sounds like something I'd see in Looney Tunes but I don't doubt this works well :ROFLMAO:

    Uses for Deuces

I'd love to have a M108 crane truck and a M105 trailer to tow behind it. I'd load the trailer with the crane ;) My dad used to have an M108 probably 25 years ago. He sold it because the crane machinery was well-corroded and he didn't want to replace it himself.

    Greasing a Deuce

Thanks for the tips everyone! For now I have a manual lever action grease gun, but I'll put an electric one on my Christmas list :D

    M35A3 Owners unite

I would take it to your local Allison shop. The Penn Power Group here quoted me $250-$300 to flush the system and fill it with Dexron III. But if you don't want to spend that money, a forum search will spell out the DIY flushing process for you. Automatic transmissions aren't exactly my forte...

    Greasing a Deuce

I am going to grease up my deuce for the first time since I've owned it. It's very long overdue, but better late than never, right? I plan on buying some kind of lithium grease from either Tractor Supply or the local John Deere dealer and hitting the zerks. While I've run both manual and...

Had to go out and drive

Nice jeep! My dad has a 1952 MD awaiting kingpin bearings on the front end. He bought the jeep because it reminds him of the orange CJ-5 he had in high school. I'm glad you took it out for a spin. I'm looking forward to nicer weather and taking the top off my deuce for about the same feeling (y)

    Uses for Deuces

Use #745 - Donut Getter During a pandemic, the going is tough. And when the going is tough, this deuce owner gets donuts! Within the truck: A dozen donuts consisting of three apple fritters, three plain donuts, two sour cream glazed donuts, two white powder donuts, two chocolate glazed donuts.

    CARNAC's Historical VIN INFO Thread

Is there any M35A3 data around, or are those too new? I remember CARNAC posting some A3 VINs in the past... I think it would be awesome to see what trucks were recycled, but that was probably never tracked.

Need towing help or a tow bar

Make sure your towing vehicle is big enough. The truck weighs about 14,000 lbs empty.

    CARNAC's Historical VIN INFO Thread

I have a list of nearly 200 Deuces of all flavors and years that I pulled from the 2009 VIN thread. I think I have enough data for people to date trucks based on the serial number. If that's not what you're looking for, the lists for the other trucks CARNAC has posted here don't offer much...

    Can't drain fuel/water separator - Cat 3116

No, the A3s didn't come with an in-tank fuel pump. I'm wondering if I should try to carefully drain the separator while it's running. Any FMTV guys know? I know the same motor was used in some LMTVs.

    Idle RPM vs temperature

I've been doing some more reading about the warmup and it seems like a good idea to idle the truck for about five minutes before increasing engine speed, mainly because the turbocharger needs to have proper oil circulation to prevent damage at higher speeds. I saw a dashboard plate on an M35A2...

    Can't drain fuel/water separator - Cat 3116

I attempted to drain the fuel/water separator on my M35A3. I opened the valve and nothing came out. Looking at the fuel/water separator, nothing sticks out to me that would function as a vent button or anything to release any vacuum on the separator. I ran a small allen wrench through the...
