    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

There is a great video done by yhe Western Canadian Rockwell guys on Youtube on how to do a chunk inspection. In yhis video they cover the details on a 2 1/2ton chunk but point out along the way yhe differences with the 5 ton. Very helpful.

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

I have purchased 3 Detroit lockers for the axles and three sets of Konig chains for my 16.00R20s. I will be attempting to make the "track" chains discussed back a ways in my thread. I will start installing the lockers on Monday with the help of another SS member. I need to pull my S-280 out and...

    M813 Starter Information Needed

@Lugnuts This would be for my M813, I thought I had an extra starter I picked up in a surplus sale just in case the EMPs blow out the one I have on my rig, but in researching this MFY-6101-IUT, it looks like it is not going to fit my NHC-250. I would like to have a spare in a EMP box ready to...

    M813 Starter Information Needed

@74M35A2 Do you have any of these 24V units for the NHC250 in my M813? I am in a "Cold place" in the winter and a kicking starter would very nice. If I don't do my start up just right I have to charge my 2 batteries and then try again. In the summer, even sitting for a month or two my rig...

S-280 Mounting in Cargo Bed, How tight?

All, My S-280 is mounted in the back of my M813. The box has skids that have suspension like qualities that appear to give at least a few inches of movement. When mounted in the back of the bed am I suppose to tighten this down to where the "give" in these skids is tightened down or am I to...

Had the BOT up at the UTAH MV outing. Here in the Uinta Mountains we are sitting at 9200 FT. Truck worked flawless.

5 ton combat wheel on M54, inserts required???

You have some great points in that. Just saying with the ones I used the bead-lock is an addition to the insert being a run flat. If the tires are not rotted dry they expect you can drive a bit over 100 miles on the tire before it needs to be changed. Inside my tires is a nice slather of...

5 ton combat wheel on M54, inserts required???

I agree on having some kind of bead-lock insert. Knowing the tire cannot come off the rim and deflate is a piece of mind. I have the Hutchinson solid rubber beadlocks/runflats on mine and I can tell you they are tough as nails. Since I am thinking you may be running higher pressure with heavy...

    Just got my first MV!

I am still short on funds to get my winch set up finished. Still need the driveshaft, linkages, cable, cable chain loop, and frame extensions. I'll ask my friend who has a lot of winch experience with these on your thoughts of the operation as a brake is very important when using a winch. I was...

    Just got my first MV!

The hard top on my M813 like yours doesn't fit all that good either. Rolling up the windows to seal? Nope they don't seal so well. So what, lol. Not a deal breaker at all for me. The only way I could consider this "seal" to bet better would be to spend a serious amount of time to make a frame...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Just saying I feel let down! After reading 11 full pages of this thread I was thinking I was going to be reading here in the end how the end product worked and a list of parts for us all to benefit! LOL, However I did find a ton of info I am very grateful for! Thanks all. This month I will...

    CHUCKY'S TREE HOUSE !

So Clean!!!! That is an interesting manifold piece for the air side of the turbo, never seen one quite like it. That alternator would be sweet on my M813.

5 ton Axle Shaft Breaking Points? What were you doing when it broke? In a 5ton or a mod truck? Repair needed?

Where are people breaking their axle shafts for the 5ton Rockwell? Front shafts? 1.Near hub on outer spline? 2.At joint for turning? Ball style vs Ujoint style... any different? 3.Inner mid part of shaft length? Short shaft vs Long shaft? 4.Inner shaft splines? Did you have a locker or lockers...

    53” tires

That M809 series is looking so TUFF! I would be interested to know your turbo setup. If you have a post about it, if you would send me a link that would be cool of you. On my M813 I am only doing 55 since that is the highest speed the tire is rated for. I have caught myself hitting 58 a few...

    PTO installation on m818

I have one to install on my M813 for a winch, someday that is. I got a set of gaskets, 2 in the bag, I was expecting to tighten it in dry and check the slop and then add or remove a gasket. Thanks for the pointer on the thickness.
