Yes it is one of those two posts just not sure which one. I think it is the first one, but trying to find out to be sure. I think we have the same model though according to these pictures and based on your original description.
Thank you for the diagram it is very close but not the same model, but it is a good reference wish it was higher res but hey beggars can't be choosers :).
So I got a few shots in of the alternator i've included on this post to help visually. The model is a Leece-Neville a0013002ae or 3002AE for short. Can't find it on their website found this one on amazon. Now looking for a schematic that shows this. I can see the bridge piece that is missing on...
I see you have the same one I do. Just got my deuce and it doesn't run but putting it back together. I have mine wired up but not sure where the male/female military plug goes on the alternator. Here is a picture of how I have it wired up. Hopefully you can tell me which post it goes on. I don't...
Yes that was in the post terminal area of this unit as well, felt and behaved a lot like silicone but I got most of it out just to see what was in there at least half of it was removed when they refurbished it.
I'll take a look and see who made it and the model tomorrow and get back with you. Thanks for the diagram that helps, it looks like some kind of bracket that goes over the positive terminal, I don't have that part so i'll have to find something to keep that cable in place. It probably doesn't...
Yes you are correct it isn't connected as of yet, when I bought this none of these wires were on the alternator and none of them had connectors of any kind as they were all broken. Previous owner said this was a rebuilt alternator he put in as the truck wasn't running when I bought it. I ordered...
So I had a little time to work on my deuce this weekend. Got one of my ground cables made and fixed the one from the battery to the alternator as well. I checked out the diagrams for all the electrical and when I got this none of the cables were hooked up. I wasn't sure if where I put the ground...
I asked him specifically if the IP was working prior to the swap (the one he put in there now) and he said yes which I guess is a troubleshooting method if you have a spare IP sitting around. He has a few of these vehicles and seemed like he's telling the truth from what I can gather. He was...
That's a good suggestion, yes I sent him a text, he said he swapped out the IP and rebuilt the alternator so that explains a few things. He figured it was the injectors since the IP swap didn't work. I'll have to take a look at those as well once I get a chance.
He actually bought it from a guy who restores these up here just about 10 minutes away, said he drove it off the lot and about 5 minutes it died on him and was sitting for a little over a year before I bought it. I'll double check everything as well. I have some spin on oil and fuel filter kits...
Thanks! Yup I haven't had as much time to work on it since I got it but been working here and there, right now trying to get all the electrical connections setup correctly that were not connected back when the previous owner was working on it. I'll check that bleed valve on the secondary fuel...
Thanks, yes they are very supportive in here, gonna need it for sure coming up. I'll keep posting updates as I go along plan on getting out there tomorrow. Got some parts from Big Mike to help fix a few things.
Thank you sir much appreciated, I found another tube that goes somewhere but not sure where it goes either been looking at the schematics this morning trying to figure it out. The only place I found was on the other side of the air intake but the tube won't fit over it so can't be that one.
No one cable has an end that is broken off but still attached. I think that was the ground wire, the military plug has the wire cut not sure where the rest of it went. I think the guy I bought it from was working on it and obviously didn't put it back together. It was sitting for about a year...
While I'm here I found a few odd things as well around the turbo area. I found this hose coming off the turbo with a clamp but nothing attached to it (it's the one on the far left). Couldn't find where it would go to or anything missing. I'll be looking at the tech manuals on this as well...
Hey all so I finally had some time to dive into the deuce after dealing with a lot of family stuff taking care of my mom and getting her back home. I noticed this was missing off my alternator. Any idea where I can find the part for this cover or am I stuck with getting another alternator? The...
That's some good information, I'm not sure how I will approach really but was more focused on in panel insulation at the moment. Once I get in there I'll figure out what makes the most sense.
