thanks everybody for the responses. i think im gonna go grab some more jack stands, and just take all the wheels off the truck. probably go through everything while im there. wheel cylinders, lines, ect. ive been wanting to paint it, so until i find an air pack may as well do something...
i think some people just see brakes in a post and flip out. you could start off with "i went to autozone and bought some brake pads for my wife's blazer"
YOU'RE GONNA KILL SOMEBODY!!! 14000 LBS!!!
i posted a thread a while ago about an oily film everywhere. firewall, hood, ect. didnt really get any feedback. this makes sense though. its got to be brake fluid. well that explains it. looks like im changing an air pack, and yes if there is any question whatsoever about the master ill...
mine does the same. i always put it into second right before it stops moving. slides right in. if i dont its just like yours. a crap shoot if it will go back in.
cool thanks for the info. i though i saw a post where a seal could go bad or something, and leak into the pack. i noticed some oily residue on the hood, and firewall around the vent line which was the reason for my suspicion. ill have to go out there, and go through the motions again. this...
i know i have a leak. hence the post. also i never said i was going to, or have any intention of driving it like it is. i obviously do a pre check before i drive it anywhere, or i wouldnt have noticed it until it was on the road. what you quoted me in saying was merely an observation by...
No Brakes. Thank God I found out at the pre-check rather than on the road. Ive done a search, and I have a good idea, but its a little sketchy. I wanted to get some opinions to make sure Im pointed in the right direction.
Ok the master cylinder was empty. This has happened before, but I was...
mine does the same. never misses a beat, but loud as ****. are these something that a transmission shop can rebuild? id hate to buy a new one, and have the same problem now that I know that there is one.
i had one of my uppers fall off. truck made a funny noise above 40, but other than that i never knew it had fallen off until i got under the truck to check something else. i went ahead and got 6 new ones. rods and all. i feel much more comfortable now.
exactly! leap before you look! :-D every cool thing i have ever bought was an impulse buy anyway. including the deuce. if i thought about it long enough i would have backed out. im glad i didnt.
wow you've done your research. yes they do have open diffs. detroit makes a locker for them. we used run detroit lockers in our rock buggy with rockwell axles. you also have to consider you have 3 axles. putting lockers in all three would be big money. you could single it out on 46's for...
Welcome! im pretty new myself. this site has a great deal of info/people to educate you in these vehicles. you're right it is a fever, but a good one! you'll enjoy it.
yeah me too. i got really excited! that was a good way to end a segment on hitches. big fan of the show Ian. as a matter of fact I think my dvr is pretty much full of extreme 4x4. you guys do some fantastic work. i cant wait so see what you're gonna do to the deuce. im sure it will be top...
i think you gave me that same advise on mine. i had the same problem with the same side on the front axle. changed everything out then started leaking again. my retainer wouldnt stay seated in the axle housing correctly. when i pulled it all apart again the retainer (seal and everything)...
