So here are the forensics:
It would seem the ctis seals are going on both front wheels. Discovered trace oil in both banjo bolts and the diagnostic has an active code for "sluggish valve closing releasing pressure". My current best guess is my valves both have gear oil in them. Thank you for...
Rear tires keep building psi. Fronts drop. System cycles 5-6 times upon start. If I air down below 80psi and reinflate everything evens back out. I have a tpms sensors on each tire and can see their individual pressures
I am in a bit of a pickle. I am driving my truck from TN to CO to be built out into an rv and am having some weird ctis issues. True to form, I took the laptop with me that I do not have any of the software on. Is there anyone that can email me a copy or link to where to download? Any help...
Even better, they installed AC and wired the fan in backwards so the system overheated. Now it won't hold a charge and they don't even warranty their own work. Tip of the iceberg of fun things I've found.
My gigantic shimmy was a tire with no beadlock in it. I bought my truck from a third party that claims "the shop goes through the whole truck", which is complete bs.
I need to look into that grease. I just have so much of this really expensive high-moly aviation grease around I figure I needed to use it before it goes bad, I just didn't want to damage anything. The only thing bad so far is the smell of it and it flings pretty hard from the u joints.
Awesome info. Another thing on list! I have only driven my A1r truck which weighs 30k empty, and I thought some of my braking effort was just due to this load. I always thought my breaks were stiff, but the exhaust brake is unbelievably good, so I thought maybe they were trying to conserve pads.
I'm in tn other wise I'd come and beer it up with you. They really aren't bad if you have the tools, and learning to do them yourself is a good thing to learn for basic mx. Just remember the hardware on the beadlock goes 180 degrees away from your CTIS valve. Hand impact is your friend. I've...
I rebuilt and recorded my locks. I had to build up were the spring attaches to the casting, as the castings are really soft and have worn down giving me the ole flappy paddle. Tightened up great and now with the new cores I have locking doors!
Looks good! Is that the dynacore product? I just installed the 1" thick dynacore and it's almost unreal how much it knocked down the noise. Now I can hear everything else that makes noise.
I've got a c7 that I want to put the highest factory tune on, so for me if I had a spare hole it would be an EGT gauge. XMission temp would be the other I would run. I plan on running an aux fuel tank, but am just going to run an xfer pump to the factory tank so it's level will pretty much...
Now I have something to think about when I get to the house. I Haven't really paid attention to the amount of shift my cab has when closing...... I just stare at the pin on the latch to make sure it locks. I had not heard that A1R trucks have this issue.
I put a zero start block heater in. This thing takes forever to drain coolant out of the radiator. I got impatient and figured enough coolant had come out that it would surely be below the freeze plug. Turns out it drains super fast out of the freeze plug hole.
It's hard to see in that pic, but there is an 18k pound tow chain running from the lift point on the branch that goes up and around the trunk. The trunk is ~20" at that height. There is no way I would trust that branch by itself. The branch is around 9" in diameter that far out and is used...
