I was thinking the same thing. Everybody just had to have the C turbo years ago, and 20 years ago when I got mine with the D turbo, I kept think just how nice that sounded and that I definitely didn't want anything louder.
I see you said you replaced the points, rotor and cap, but did you replace the condenser? I just had a recent problem with mine after it bounced home on the trailer from the MVPA show in Oshkosh and it would not run correctly. It acted like it was a fuel problem, running rich and backfiring and...
I have the M715 and M38a1 all loaded up and ready to head out in the morning. It's about a 6 1/2 hour drive around the bottom of the lake to get there. See you guys there.
Yep, I missed Des Moines because it fell on a date that I had commitments already. They have really suffered the last few ones, and I hope Oshkosh will pick it back up. I've heard that there are over a 100 vehicles registered, but I see the vendor areas still show a couple open tables.
Probably, I was just trying to figure out how many national conventions I've been too, and I think I'm up to seven. Stop by and say hello, I'll probably be hanging out near my M715 or M38a1. Plus, I'll have your marking for you as well.
I'll be leaving Wednesday morning with 2 of my vehicles to get there. I'm bringing my M38a1 to be judged and my M715 for display. I'll also be one of the judges there for judging vehicles. Plus I'll be looking for a few bits for a new project that is coming soon to the shop.
Good luck, it seems like for the last few years it has fallen on a bad weekend for me. I have obligations to take my vehicles to a big parade to haul the VFW and local veterans. Hopefully it's a great turn out, the weather should be excellent.
Here's my gun truck M715, I set it up with Ma Deuce in the bed and a M60 for the passenger.
I also run the A&K M60 from Evike and it is a great piece that looks so good displayed with the trucks. And with a quick mod can be mounted on a pintle.
I used to run my deuce across US10 to get to the Claire show for several years and never had a problem holding up traffic. Even pulling a trailer I was able to maintain 50-55 mph. The biggest thing with taking a long deuce trip is hearing protection and driver fatigue from all the vibration. It...
Yes, the 00132370 would be the correct hood registration numbers for a 1953 truck. The Alpha numeric system didn't start until 1954. I see it all the time with marking kits for M38a1's and M37's which had production runs across the years where they made the change.
The last time I had to do one, I marked a tooth on the pump against the housing so that I could orient it once it was out of the housing. Then just matched the slot on the new pump and marked that tooth and slid it back in with no problem. Maybe I was just lucky, but it was no problem and timing...
I believe someone talked to Jon there and they had some files get corrupted and are trying to restore it from a backup from a few months ago and hopefully they can get it back up soon.
If I remember correctly, there are two sizes for the antenna balls. Make sure you are not trying to force the small holed one on a bigger antenna. They should just slip on with a little effort.
There are a couple of easy things to do with these Facebook scammers, first click on their profile and look around. If they only have a couple pics and not much else, they are a scammer. Also you can check to see what posts they have made to the group, and if they are all for sale adds or...
Nice looking truck, the great thing is that all the main pieces to keep it running are all just standard M37 parts. Motor, drivetrain, brakes, ect are all fairly easy to find M37 items. Unique to the M56 is going to be items like the PTO and welder which look like are still with it. Definitely...
