    alternator problem

Each alt is rated at 100Amp output. I would start with the obvious electrical concerns, power feed, grounds, and clean connections.

    truck revs on its own

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me. The throttle cable was coming apart inside the casing till it finally broke. Remove the throttle cable from the injection pump and work the pump if okay check the cable operation with it disconnected.

*A forum dedicated to CUCVs that you can go to find an answer or opion in a matter of miuntes. *The grin you get while listening to the stories your wife tells you about all the people that looked at her and talked to her about the tank she was driving. *20MPG *Washing out the floor with a...

    rebuild heads or new motor?

To answer correctly and for us to give our opinions we need more info. Are you sure its the head gaskets and not a cracked head or block? High mileage on the truck or not? Cost of reman engine and install would be more than head gaskets. No need for a 6.5 upgrade unless you have one. (My opion)

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Throttle cable install. Short story long here goes, I floored it to pass coming home, from work last night, and the thing kept going after I let off, that was fun, I hooked the gas pedal with my foot to pull it up but since its a cable and not mechanical that made difference. No floormat to...

    Sound in intake

I'll bet the noise is really the CDR valve on the pass side or its where the CDR valve hose connects at the front of the engine fill tube.

Where M1009's issued with mud guards?

The plastic one is under the front fender between the steel inner fender and the fire wall/frame and its held on by 3 or 4 plastic push pins unless its all jacked up like mine then its held in by zip ties. If your 09 is stock it does not have quad shocks.

Wow still amazed at the amount of prople that buy CUCVs and know absolutly nothing about them or how to work on them. Great site to help out the not knowing and to humor those that do.

Looking at picking up a CUCV

At first I thought you were describing my truck but I didn't know it was for sale. Sounds like a $2500 max truck if you can do the work yourself if not I'd wait and find a nicer one in the $3000-4000 range but thats just me.

How to diagnose / pinpoint "sticky or bad injector"

Check the harmonic balancer, torque convertor bolts/nuts, drop the alternator and power steering pump belts to eliminate the accessories as a possibility.
