Yes, CIP (Combat ID Panels), AKA "Reverse Polarity Panels". when viewed through thermal sights or FLIR, they show up as the polar opposite of hot. So in Black hot, they appear white and in white hot they appear black. They will only function when "turned on", with the "on" side facing out (see...
If you are looking for a 6.5L Turbo engine, may I suggest looking at Junkyards? They were also put in Chevy 3/4T pickups (1995ish). I have a Chevy K2500 and it has essentially the same engine as a HMMWV, except that it has an electronically controlled injection pump instead of cable controlled...
I was under the impression that the CUCV uses the same interior lights and gage cluster as a similar year Civilian Chevy Truck. Wouldn't it be much simpler to check junkyards for some of those parts?
Not Desert Storm. That would be from around 2003-2004. DS used the 6-color desert "Chocolate Chip" camp, OIF used the 3-color DCU you see there. And while i was there in '03-'04 and '05-'06, the SF guys acted as if they didn't need armor because they are just that badass. At least until they...
I have a complete set of HMMWV manuals in .pdf format. The files are too big to upload here. If you send me an e-mail to ancient_guardian99@yahoo.com I'll mail them to you one at a time.

I was a tank crewman on M1A2's and most of the time we took the rounds directly from the shipping pallets into the tanks at an ammo dock. However, when we went to Bosnia and Iraq and received "used" rounds (ones that had been uploaded and then downloaded again, we laid out all the ammo so that...
Heading to Barstow would make sense if an Armor unit was going to NTC and was not drawing vehicles there. Since thise look like they might be M2A3 Bradleys (hard to tell at that distance) the unit would have to bring their own because I'm not sure, but NTC doesn't have those available for draw yet.
the seat back fits am M1 (original M-1, not M1A1 or later)
the seat assembly comes up as Seat, agricultural/auto/tractor sub 8....possibly for a Dozer of some sort? Not from M1, M2/3, M113 or anything else I've personally worked with....hope that helps
