theres a 86 m1009 in rochester for 3600, looks dangg fine to me! i wouldnt pay more then 2500 for a GL truck or one that needs work. 5500 for a good runner, with new tires, low miles, and nice paint. But i guess it depends on how thick your wallet is!
ummmm.....what is the tow vehicle? and is there any slope youll be traversing? Im thinking that keeping them in the trailer might be a problem.... and itd be a wee bit topheavy if they are standing. Don't you have any friends with a trailer you could borrow????
Id like to agree with the above. Try original... or new replacement. We redid the brakes on a 87 chevy r10 and well, its way easier to redo brake lines with everything opened up. BUT as stated above, its your choice, time and money. The originals would be best.....my .02
how about we get an idea of what all your stripping? and what time frame/cost your looking at... if you blast, and wait.....your going to have bare metal, with a good bit of surface rust. so the best thing to do is to blast, and paint or re finish right away. BUT, it all depends on your...
I vote some Hurculiner (Bedliner). Its made to take a beating, and resists stains (salt, roadmelt, etc...) AND its pretty cheap insurance against rust. And whatever you have left, can be used inside the box. :driver:
Ok.....heres my 2 solutions to this...
1) get a gallon of bedliner and coat it like you mean it. 2 coats will do wonders, let it cure in full sunlight for 5 days straight.
OR go redneck and mix some roofing tar, used motor oil, bar and chain oil (chainsaw) and coat it while together, and then...
haha! I had the same sorta thing happen when using a water one in a demo....and the fitting that holds the hose on broke off.....yes.....i was wet.....
and it was about 50 years old...
just a thought here....was there any condensation in the cleaned tank? how long were the lines not full of diesel? and did some water get in the pipe? Im leaning towards fuel setting, or water.
what did the wires connect to? any location for wires anywhere near? such as diffential? more cleaning may reveal a part number! was the "mounting" done sort of the way it woulda been done way back when?
